Miami Heat Comparisons

As a lifelong Eagles fan, I have been an avid reader of BGN for some time now.  While I have always enjoyed reading the articles and fanposts, I have never felt compelled to create an account to post comments or write my own posts. However, after seeing a lot of the commentary on ESPN and the various articles throughout the internet regarding comparisons between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Miami Heat, I now feel the urge to give my opinion on the matter.

I have been able to witness the circus that is the Miami Heat while attending my first year at the University of Miami, and it pains me to see that many members of the media are making lazy and half-assed comparisons between the Heat and the Eagles.  The Eagles, especially throughout the Andy Reid Era, have been one of the classiest organizations in the NFL.  The selfish, me-first, arrogant type of players that make up the core of the Miami Heat have either been shipped out of Philadelphia (Terrell Owens, Freddie Mitchell), or have assimilated to Andy Reid's classy organization (Michael Vick, VY... hopefully).

The Eagles have slowly but surely retooled their team through solid drafts, savvy trades, and now agressive free agency moves.  This is a far cry from three selfish NBA superstars simply deciding that they want to create a dynasty that could win not 1, not 2, not 3... etc. championships.  The Eagles have been forming a cohesive unit that meshes perfectly together, which unselfish players like Nnamdi Asomugha, Cullen Jenkins, DRC, Ryan Harris... etc. will most likely just make even better.

Thanks for reading my first fanpost.  Here's to a great season.
