First ten cuts

T-S. Johnson

WR-Terrence Turner- With the addition of Steve Smith, once less WR stays around through the first cuts
DB- Jamar Adams- Think they will let Marsh, Lindley, Hughes battle it out in the last preseason game
DT- Marlon Favorite- Mike Patterson back, Landri playing so well, Thornton making some noise, Dixon getting healthy... no need for camp DT's anymore
DE- Chris Wilson- Phillip Hunt forcing his own hand to stay around a little longer at a crowded position, Wilson gone
TE- Martell Webb- No chance
RB- Derek Locke- Crowded position will be a PS for someone
C- A.Q. Shipley- clearly the battle is between Kelce and Jackson
TE- Cornelius Ingram- sad to see him be cut... think he will be a good player for someone if healthy but Lee is our third
LB- Brandon Pequese- going young at the LB position doesn't help Pequese at all

What you think....

Then down to 53

Harbor will last about 2 seconds on the practice squad

Why dont we just call the Giants up and hand him to them.

by greenage on Aug 26, 2011 5:34 PM EDT up reply actions

Exactly we need to keep him

A lot of those guys...

Aren’t eligible for the practice squad.

I'm not drunk I'm just drinking.

Yeah pretty sure McGlynn played too much

Time to refer to the rules

Harbor is the No. 2 TE. Dude might be the 1 in a year or so

PS

So
Moss
Hall
Colt Anderson
Jones
Jeanty
Reynolds

are all elligible for PS according to the link posted a couple of weeks ago so it is really only McGlynn and Harbor who are not elligbile that being said

I replace Clayton with Harbor… Clayton goes to PS, as well as I drop Teo to PS (Giving Hunt a shot, and Hargrove can play outside)

Putting Hall back on the squad as a Returner… think that he may be an Ammendola type if he goes somewhere (yes the white thing had something to do with that reference)

So Hall, Harbor make the squad and the final PS are

Colt Anderson
Sinorice Moss
Gerald Jones
Keenan Clayton
Rashad Jeanty
Dallas Reynolds
Dan Teo
One spot reserved for Phillip Hunt if Brandon Graham comes back before Week 9

No need to reserve a spot

you can change your PS at any time.

I'm not drunk I'm just drinking.

Yeah practice squad guys

can’t be 5-year vets who are on the roster fringe. Generally speaking, they are first or second-year guys who half been active for less than half of season’s worth of games.

From wikipedia:

However, a player cannot participate on the practice squad for more than three seasons, or if he has accrued a year of NFL experience (six or more games on a club’s 53-man active roster or official Injured Reserve list.) If the player was on the active list for fewer than 9 games during their “only Accrued Season(s)”, he maintains his eligibility for the practice squad.1

Jeanty and Moss can’t be on the PS. Neither can JLH, but Hall might be eligible.

Keenan Clayton is going to make the team.

Teo or Hunt or Colt or any of the CBs we could probably put on there, but we’re probably going to lose them.

I would put Austin Howard and perhaps Vandervelde on the PS, depending on if Harris and Justice are healthy enough to take up OL spots. McGlynn and Mathis and Wells, between two of them and Kelce, we’ll have our OL backups.

Moss or JLH

One can stay, one has to go. I like keeping one but we can’t do both.

Also does anyone think we can cut someone like Ryan Harris with the promise that we’ll pick him back up after Week 1 if he’s healthy?

I think we might see extensive use of injury trickery this year. o/u on players we retain rights to somehow is 58.

9 cuts, need 1 more

I know they’ve waived Turner, Peguese, Favorite and Locke already…

Don’t think they will cut both Corndog and Webb in the first 10…need depth to play in the last game because Celek wont be playing.

I see the next 6 being: Chris Wilson, Isaiah Trufant, Jamar Wall, Webb (or Corndog), Fenuki Tupou, and Rod Harper…IMO. Only 4 WRs play in the last game: Hall, JLH, Moss, and Gerald Jones to figure out how many WRs we take (anywhere from 5-7)

by birdsfaninsc on Aug 26, 2011 3:01 PM EDT reply actions

I was impressed that he nailed the first four

not that they were hard.

Was right bout Jamar Wall and Martell Webb

Gerald Jones (for Rod Harper) and Spector Johnson (for Fenuki Tupou)…next is Chris Wilson i’m predicting

Trade Hanson for a serviceable offensive linemen.

Forget a draft pick. If we don’t fix our offensive line then our Free agents acquisition will be for nothing.

Never call a Phillies, Eagles, Flyers or Sixers fans, a band-wagoner. It is disrespectful. We have suffered agony through the years. Philadelphians should be jovial for their teams' success.

by chillyphilly on Aug 26, 2011 3:43 PM EDT reply actions

Was thinking the same thing. It would only make sense…At least for depth

by piffyeagle on Aug 27, 2011 1:02 AM EDT reply actions

Only Gerald Jones, Dallas Reynolds, and Colt Anderson are PS eligible out of the ones you picked.
