Ultimately Castillo is going to have to come up with a decision on what to do with Matthews after Thursdays game against the Browns based on how he performs. Given he had a tremendously awful game against the Steelers he failed to get off his blockers and make tackles and overal just failed to make plays. I'm sure they've been working heavily with him since. There has been endless talk since the game on what to do with Matthews after his performance. Here's my take on it, this kids got great potential but do we wanna sit around and wait for it? I mean seriously Reid's 13th year is here and we have this attractive talent on our hands but we still don't have those shiny things on our fingers do we? Matthews isn't going to fully mature and develop in just one year here at Philly it's going to take time 2 or 3 years. I get it, it was a preseason game and it didn't count but it was still starters vs starters for the first half and no one was letting up and Casey showed he's not ready to play in the NFL yet. Yes he only played a half, but your telling me the score would have got better? I dont think so. People want to argue the fact that they love Matthews and want him to start and give him a chance, but answer this, what do you like about Matthews? Nobody hates the kid your getting the wrong idea if your thinking that, it's just us Eagles fans want to seize the opportunity of this great team and get those rings finally. I do love Chaney at the SAM spot and thats the problem cause it fits him better there, who would we pick up if were using Matthews? I don't have answer for that one but I think it would be wise to sit Matthews and let him mature and develop this year rather than throw him out to the big dogs and watch him get stage fright. Hopefully Thursday he can show us something but other than that Castillo really needs to realize. So Yay or Nay for Matthews?
