As stated before, Nobody here condones that behavior.
Not even from our own players.
Defensive player of the year for 2011 is...
Wild_Eagle!
Yes, Wild_Eagle's infamous reputation did help him get this award. But he shows that he walks the talk that he serves...with his keyboard. Wild_Eagle protects the motherland (BGN) from the evils of noobs, douche-bags, and other assholes. Although he may be crude and unnecessary, all great defenders draws the yellow flag from time to time.

I condone that behavior.
So that makes you are an ignorant fucking jackass. But you already knew that.

I didnt come over there with a sarcastic attitude. I came looking to talk about a certain play.
Your here to try and somehow make yourself feel better by showing a play that isnt close to resembling what Foster did.
Good job, you found a video of a DE diving at a QB. Those happen all the time, finding a guy who dove into the back of a defensiveness players knees is harder to find.
Eagles... :)

Penalizable sure, refs didn’t see it and if they had I bet it would’ve been called. But at least he had the ball. It’s no where close to as bad as picking the flag back up though…
A hit to the thigh is no where close to as bad as a chop to the back of the knees.
Looking at both the plays, Babins is certainly late, but is it a cheap shot? I mean, did he have Ben lined up completely unable to defend himself? There’s a difference between diving at the front of the thighs, and diving at the back/side of someones knees. If any player did that to Big Ben or any QB for that matter, they would instantly be fined. Not to mention if the play was stopped like Chaney’s hit…
Agreed. It is a late hit, and it should have been flagged. But it is not a cheap shot, and doesn’t even come close to the hit on Chaney.

He hit him below the knees 2 steps too late. It was dirty and intentional and could have ended Big Ben's season

HE'S A STEP LATE...
instead of squinting and watching the video as it is….OPEN IT UP TO FULL SCREEN….you can CLEARLY see that Babin drops to one knee to kill his momentum!! and hits Ben in the THIGH with his shoulder; WAY ABOVE his knees…He does not try to tackle THROUGH Big Ben!!! Big Ben jumps, which makes it look worse and takes his legs out from under him. He could have easily pancaked Babin if he kept his weight forward…If Big Ben had faked the throw like the Allen blitz; this is a different conversation. Even if flagged, it’s borderline!!

but he did not fake the throw which makes it a 100% late hit

are you mentally challenged?
no one is saying it wasn’t a late, however slight or not; yes it was still late…..repeating it doesn’t make it a dirty play, it completely wasn’t….cry about it all you want, and try to remember who’s on YOUR defense and offense for that matter; people in glasses houses shouldn’t throw stones..

I'm not even sure if that's late
You get one step after the QB releases the ball. While it’s hard to tell from this awful video, I don’t see him taking more than one step. It felt late for sure, if he on;y took one step than it would seem to be legal.

It's late and violates the Brady Rule

Not as blatant as Foster’s cheap shot on Chaney, this one is at least part of the play he’s only about half a second late, Foster just randomly decided to launch himself at Chaney’s knees after the play was over

What Foster did does not change the fact that this is a dirty play. When a QB plants his foot for a throw and you then dive at his legs, that is dirty.

You mean like when Kimo von Oelhoffen ended Carson Palmer’s season, and practically his career?
Jamie Dukes- First name is a girl’s, last name is a dog’s. That would make him Michael Vick’s BITCH.
Kimo was blocked into Palmer. That was completely different.

He's a half a step late...
So sure, you’ve got a late hit….He gets hit in the HIP and it’s not his knees, so atleast know the Brady Rule if you’re going to try and use it in your argument…and the planting his foot garbage, Big Ben has enough time to start to jump as he’s hit, LIFTING his planted leg, and that’s why his legs are taken out from under him. Stop acting like he took a knee shot; distort the images in your head all you want. It’s all there in black and white.

yah, i covered that part...
So sure, you’ve got a late hit. Reading comprehension; the point was it wasn’t a dirty hit. Late is not equal to dirty, especially when you’re talking a less than a second late…and it wasn’t a cheap shot to the knees, which has been the sentiment given by you and your fellow fans.

I rewatched it and you are right on where he hit him. He just slid down into his leg and that’s why I thought he hit him low. It still looked incredibly late and completely avoidable though.

It does not violate the Brady rule
Babin was not diving from the ground. He had his feet under him when he dived. The Brady rule only refers to players who have been knocked to the ground lunging at the feet of the quarterback.
Even if Babin's hit was a notch late it was by not means dirty.
Foster’s hit seemed late, intentional and malicious. You come to BGN, you better come correct you neuro-palegic troll

Thanks a lot Nnamdi for wasting a whole day of productivity at work and stressing me out. Now we get to destroy you twice a year and I'll call us even.

trying to compare this to what Foster did is like trying to compare being hit with a NERF Sword to being hit with a Claymore.

Ya after seeing this I watched the other one. Is this really being debated?
One you have a clearly dirty play, on the other you have a potentially late hit even less potentially dirty play. Plus you can hardly even claim you see the play here so just go with the refs call.

I just timed it 10 times and got the following numbers for the hit after the pass left Big Ben's hands
1.1, 1.2, 1.0, 1.4, 1.5, 1.1, 1.2, .9, 1.0, 1.4 which averages out to 1.18 seconds after the throw left his hands which is very late by any standards. The hit also took place below Ben’s thigh and right above his knee which could still cause serious damage to a knee. It was a flag-able play and if that hit happened to Brady, the player would be fined big time.

time the Foster late hit and get back to me
Shouldn’t have happened, Babin absolutely fucked the pooch on that one.
With that being said, this is a borderline call in most games anyway.
Whatever. You got even. Haha! …

It was cheap and unnecessary but not nearly as dirty as fosters,
babin slowed down before hitting ben (maybe kept about the same speed but did not speed up). Foster sped up greatly from a jog to launch himself with intent to hurt Chaney. Plus babin was running hard and it’s hard with 1 second, as big as he is and going as fast as he was, to move out of the way. To me it seemed like he tried to not put all of his momentum into roeslisberger’s legs, like foster did. Don’t get me wrong though. I’ll admit it was dirty but alot less than yours.
