The Linc - Broad Street Beats Broadway
Broad Street bests Broadway — again - NYPOST.com
Now Philadelphia is Michael Corleone, underestimated for so long, who in December came out of the bathroom blasting away and hustled Cliff Lee away from the Yankees, who yesterday announced it had "settled all family business" by getting Nnamdi Asomugha to sign his mellifluous collection of vowels and consonants to the bottom of a contract, stealing him clear away from the Jets.
Didinger: Don't put Eagles in Super Bowl just yet
The Eagles made a splash in free agency by signing big-time players like Nnamdi Asomugha and Cullen Jenkins, but talk of being Super Bowl favorites is a bit premature. By Ray Didinger

A quick look at the Cowboys’ "3 bullies" – Blogging the bEast
The "bullies" that Ryan was referring to are Marcus Spears, Jason Hatcher and Kenyon Coleman, a pupu plater of veteran, non-play-making NFL DE’s. It’s unfortunate for those three guys, who really did nothing to bring this attention on themselves, but they’ll now forever be called "The 3 Bullies" by me. A quick look at their career numbers:

I don't know
in the end, Michael ended up seeing everyone he loved die, some of whom he personally killed, so maybe the metaphor is a little forboding…

I think DeSean will be in by Thursday because if he doesn’t that’s when the $30k fines a day start & with his contract he can’t hold out too long when the fines start.

Love the Cowboys wish list. Fantastic. What’s great is that a large number of their commenters are trashing the Eagles signings, and yet less than 30% of them voted “neither.”

Thought this was pretty funny as well
trying to relieve the stress, this is how me and Nnamdi met one beautiful summer night
we met in a club, we danced, we drank, we laughed, then we walked the sandy beaches of Oakland and made sweet love under the stars
when I woke up he was gone, just a number written into the sand………………..#21

Is anyone watching ESPN?
They’re talking about how the Eagles are supposedly trash talking the Cowboys.
Buh, buh, they started it!

We know ESPN NFC East blogger Dan Graziano does! Or at least sometimes.

The Newman article
At the first press conference, Jason said the theme is “Shut up and play.” Are you guys buying into that more after going through that adversity?
Apparent the DC didn’t get that memo.

I just spend a good 15 minutes reading the Cowboys’ fans reactions to the Eagles’ signings, priceless. They went from hailing Nnamdi as a god to calling him a dirtball in about 5 seconds.
He's slick, he's quick, he's Michael Vick.

Trump 2012
Anyone have any success with Eagles tickets at 10am? I got through Ticketmaster about 15 min after and was able to get 4 tickets to Kolb’s future 5 interception game in November.
Scored one for Dallas.
I’ve never gotten through before. I couldn’t believe it. I might whip a battery at Rob Ryan.

That BTB thread is a very entertaining read.
To be honest, I kind of agree with Didinger. Our team has added pieces in the past few days, but shit happens. Injuries, defense not meshing, etc. And then playoffs are a total game by game crapshoot, i.e. Seahawks over Saints last year. All I’m saying is I’m curbing my enthusiasm on a Super Bowl run. I’m excited to play the Rams, and then take it week by week from there. I’d hate for that greened-out Nnamdi thread to show up in a BTB links post after we go 9-7 or lose in the first round of the playoffs. Not saying that’s what I think will happen, but the NFL season is so unpredictable. Regardless, I’m extremely excited to see how it all plays out.

This is my biggest fear--from the Didiger article
“Banner and Roseman have to slip into their Batman and Robin suits again and find a better tackle because a tag team of Justice and Dunlap won’t cut it if this team is going to make a legitimate run at the Super Bowl.”
Justice is bad. Dunlap is worse. I don’t know how we can think that they’re going to get the job done at RT. With the number of times Vick was sacked last season and forced to do things prematurely because Justice broke down, it’s time for Bustice to go. Herremans to RT. You heard it here first.
Q: What do a leaky tampon and Sean McDermott's defense have in common?
A: They are equally ineffective in the red zone.
"If Roger Goodell was on fire and I had to piss on him to put him out, I wouldn't do it...I hate him and will never respect him."
--The often wrong (but right in this instance) James Harrison.
ESPN...
turning the Dream Team quote into bull crap. Did we say we are the best team in the NFL? No…and stop comparing us to the Miami Heat.
I know, right? Last time I checked the Eagles played football, not basketball, I mean, that’s an obvious difference right there
by Swoop4President!! on Aug 2, 2011 1:38 PM EDT up reply actions
Because when the backup QB speaks, he's clearly speaking for the entire team.
He hasn’t been in town for a week yet, and probably hasn’t talked to more than a handful of players, but, obviously, he’s the team spokesman.

Gotta say..
That Asomugha vs Jenkins thread is a funny captain hindsight thread… BUT, the best thread I’m reading is the next one BTB mods pointed their users to.. Comments in the thread where they just got word that the Jets were dropping out of the Nnamdi race… classic. You should read them, its like eating the tastiest food you’ve ever tasted. Starts off crisp with jittery, excitement and anticipation.. yet it manages to build during the fistbump-gate, then the sweet release of info that Nnamdi is an Eagle about 2/5ths the way threw the comments… and its just awesome.. go now.
