There's Desean in the backfield with his wings spread, ready to take off with the ball, Mike Vick is on the top left looking at the blitzer coming from the slot. Shady in on the top right, also looking at the blitzer. The O-line, in the bottom row is also bothered by how the defense is loading up from the left side and everyone's aware of what the defense is trying to do.
This is not going to be a repeat of last year:
The Eagles have a new offensive line coach, ready to protect Mike Vick from all sides, and you can bet that he is starting at square one with each one of his linemen so they know what he expects out of them.
While on defense you have a half crazy former college linebacker, previous o-line coach, trying to motivate the defense in his own way
While his ^ tactics are yet unproven, here is a man that is legit and has the attention of all players from top to bottom:
This season is a start of something new in the Andy Reid Era, we know there is a lot of pressure on the newly assembled Birds to win the Ultimate Prize this year, but we can look at this as a start of something new, fresh and something that will improve as the years go on. Dream Team ?? No. A work in progress ?? Yes. It's not do or die this year, the team has to still establish it's identity with so many major changes in the coaching staff and players. Let's not put any more pressure on the team then there already is. I, personally, am going to keep my expectations low until the team has enough games under its belt to really gel. Injuries, shortened off season and big changes are all reasons to put a 2 year window on the Super Bowl. It's very exciting to see the team make so many big moves, but we have to temper our enthusiasm until it all comes together -- maybe by mid-season, maybe by end of the season -- that is yet unknown.
Until then, let's just take a step back and enjoy the unprecedented talent assembled on this team and thank the Eagles Ownership, Front Office and Head Coach for what they've put together.
Yes, this is a time I have not seen in my 20 years of following the Eagles and not sure how often this comes around, but glad it's happening now. Go Birds !!! Make us Proud !!!
