Eagles Players React To Win Over Ravens
The Eagles got their preseason off to a good start with a win and more importantly a solid all around performance from most of the guys that matter. The first team played so few snaps that we really can't take a whole lot from it, but at this point in the preseason it's nice to be saying "don't get too high" as opposed to "don't get too low." Here's what a few of the guys had to say after the game.
"I feel that each and every guy in the locker room wants to be on this year. We've enjoyed each other so much over training camp and just spending time with one another, getting to know one another. [We're] just so happy to be back and gelling as a team that I think that every guy in the locker room wishes they could be on this team. And I think that's why you get the effort that you just saw out on the field. Because guys want to play for us. It's awesome. It's awesome. I wish every guy could make this team and be a part of it. But yeah, we definitely have something special and this was by far one of the best training camps that I had, one of the best teams that I ever felt that I've been a part of and I enjoy each and every teammate that I have in the locker room."
"It's still early. It was only one series and it's going take a lot to be a good team. We have to get everybody back healthy and in the flow of things. It will take a bit of time, but we will be good. I think that past few years we were good and now with a few more weapons and working together, we will be fine."
Punter Chas Henry
"It's great. I love winning and coming to a place like this, where the expectations are winning a Super Bowl. That is the expectation you should have as a professional. I relish that and can't wait to begin the season."
"There are certainly some things I need to work on. I have only been in camp for a week, so I need to get comfortable with things and pick up on the offense. It's going to be a continuing thing. There are a lot of things to work on. I told coach Mudd that I am not afraid to put extra time into it. I am hoping for a good week of practice and head down to Pittsburgh and see how it goes."
Vince Young, who evidently feels that he needs to keep working.
"I have to continue to keep working. It's a new offense and a new team. I just want to continue to keep working. I felt alright tonight, but it's not where I want to be at. I have to go back to the practice field and keep working to progress."
"With the way [defensive coordinator] Juan [Castillo] is having us play, I mean, we're playing fast and we're manning up a lot of guys. I don't know if you can tell, but we are getting after these wide receivers. They made a couple catches, but at the end of the day, they didn't get in the end zone. From [the first team] to the end of the first quarter, everyone did their job and I think that's something that we can improve on. There are still things that we have to go back and check the film on and get better at, but overall, I'm pleased with the way it went down."
Darryl Tapp is now wearing the #55 jersey, but he says that wasn't the reason for his two sacks.
"[Jokingly] It might have been. No, it was definitely a lot of work with [defensive line] coach [Jim] Washburn. There's still a lot more work to do, but it was a good feeling to get a good start."
Alex Henery, a kicker, says it was to get started off "on the right foot." Get it!?
"Yeah, the first kickoff was kind of nice and I got a good one. I snuck it in. It was good to just get started off on the right foot. I was happy how it went today."
Jaiquawn Jarrett on his first pick
"It was a great experience to come out here in my first professional game to get out here and compete. The coaches had faith in me and the players did, so it was exciting for me to get a turnover and get the offense back on the field."
Nnamdi Asomugha... he calls us "we!"
I've had three practices and a preseason game, and obviously we're talented-it's laid out all over the place and everyone sees it and the coaching is great here as well. So, we could be really special. I think we have a great opportunity to do some big things this year. But with those expectations, you have to put in a little more focus, so it may not be as easy as other people are expecting it to be. We still have a lot of work to do."
"I knew what this team was capable of doing. With this outcome, I wasn't surprised, but with how fast it went. I only got eight reps and that's fine. Each game we'll start getting more and more and just looking forward to getting in a rhythm. We have a good group of guys and we know what we're all about. Obviously, it's nice coming out with the victory."

Michael Vick sets the tone in this lockerroom. I have never seen an Eagles team so completely the QBs as this one.

Ya no kiddin….
….Pretty awesome to have great leadership at all levels…
FLY #7 FLY !!!
In MUDD I trust !!!
I have always wished that the eagles had this leadership in the teams of the past the truth is that McNabb could never be half the presence that Vick is out there in the huddle. I love it!!!
You just can’t help taking shots at 5 every chance you get, can you? You need to learn to let go brother. Let. Go. Life is far more enjoyable when it is viewed in the positive and not the negative.

hell yea
The Eagles looked like a first team offense against a good Baltimore D. I can wait until Jack and Mac get in on this and get back to playing speed. It is great seeing Vick lead – I wonder where he would be if he did this early on in his career

I was saying this exact thing last night
I wonder where he would be if he did this early on in his career.
Best QB of this generation, that is where he would be.
I hope young kids can look at Vick’s experiences (not the dog shit, the lack of proper training and practicing at VT & ATL) and learn that god-given athleticism is no substitute for putting in as much work, time and effort as one possibly can.
It’s nice that two teams remove people can still criticize McNabb like he’s not the best QB the franchise ever had.

Humble and the "right track"
I am absolutely jacked up about my team. I can honestly say “we” ala Nmandi are humble and on the “right track”. From Vick setting the tone on/off the field (no distractions..very important) to team chemistry to everyone still remembering that ALOT of work is still needed to secure our destiny with the “greats” ala Lombardi, I am just blown away how we are approaching this season. I am honestly blown away how our FO drafted high character guys who just happen to be pretty decent too. I catch so much flak about the Dream Team (thanks Vince), but honestly we have to win a Superbowl. Anything less is totally unacceptable with the talent. And for the all you turncoat McNabb haters, I still respect the man even with diminished skills. He has a legitimate point…we have never assembled this much talent around him EVER!!! I still have his jersey…though Vick’s looks more pimpin’ on me. Time for our boys to do the impossible.
Who do you guys play next?

Anyone else really impressed with Dion Lewis?
I mean, ok, so hes a second round guy and should produce, but he just seemed to be way faster than most other players out there. In a crowded backfield with limited opportunity, he really impressed me.
Thought he looked great
Falling forward and squeaking out an extra yard or two on every touch. Showed good power for such a little back.
Yeah he was 5th round guy…shadys the 2nd round guy

yeah i got him confused… my bad. Even still, a 5th rounder is even more impressive. I know his yards per carry were low, but he just seemed like he was so quick and responsive. When I initially saw him in the huddle, he and Chad Hall looked like kids that were playing with grown-ups or something. Then he shot out of there like a rocket! I know he didnt break off anything big, but still, showed a lot of promise. I am hopeful of his progress and look forward to seeing him in more preseason games.

He had a good blitz pickup at one point. He looked good running the ball, but being able to pick up the blitz is probably just as important for making the team and getting on the field during the regular season.

Maybe I haven't seen it yet
But I haven’t read much about Cullen Jenkins’ performance. That hit he put on Joe Flacco was a thing of beauty. Looking forward to more of that and thought that was a very promising sign.
I only got eight reps and that’s fine.
Why did he only get 8 reps? I thought hed play more.
Eagles... :)
The first teams on offence and defence are usually just in for a series or two in the first game
They should get more playing time in the next two games.
Because he is going to make the team
and the first game is usually about getting some of the fringe guys on tape for roster decisions that will happen in the next few weeks.
He did very good … albeit against the 2nd and 3rd string defense, but still had a strong showing.

The Bills traded veteran receiver Lee Evans to the Baltimore Ravens.
maybe we can trade for Boldin now
I've been waiting my whole life for an Eagles Championship
R2C2!
RIP JJ
What I was most excited to see was...
The fact that they Played Nnamdi in Press/Man Coverage and Asante in Off-Man coverage. Instead of trying toforce the team to fit the scheme(i.e. See Kyle ShanaHAHAn), you mold your scheme to fit the players strengths.
Astra Inclinant, Non Necessitant
WTF?!?!?!?
NFL network is refusing to talk about the eagles….Wtf. what abunch of fags. Seriously total access, talking about tavaras Jackson and blaine gabbert….give me a break.

E’r, I’d really rather not the Eagles be “that team” if you know what I mean
I reject your reality and substitute my own.
