Is this the End of Days for Joselio Hanson?
With the signing of NA, the trade for DRC, Asante already on the roster and w/ rookie CB Curtis Marsh and 2nd year CB Trevard Lindley. How likely is it that they keep Hanson, with a cap figure of 2.2 million? What do you think guys think is going to happen with Asante? Does he get traded? Does Hanson get cut/traded? Do the Eagles keep 6 CB's on the roster?

I never thought Hanson was good last year, and I never liked the idea of having a third CB who couldn’t step up and play on the outside in case of injury. Lindley and Marsh both project to be much better players than Hanson, and there’s no point in keeping him around as a dime back. Not at that price.
Nnamdi wants his number back....
Nnamdi wants to wear 21….Hansen didn’t want to part with it. Sorry Joselio, Nnamdi gets what Nnamdi wants. lol, j/p
If we cut him, is any of his 2.2 million base salary, a hit against our cap?
If not, cut him give NA his number back and joselio will be the biggest donator to the DJAX, Michael Vick fund haha….juqua ur next.
I was listening to 106.7 the Fan in DC, and I'm hearing rumors of a three team trade between DC,Philly and Denver
Denver gets:
Asante Samuel
We get:
A first rounder, second rounder and two third round picks
Deadskins get"
Kyle Orton
Rivals beware
That trade sounds ridiculous, even for talk radio. Still…wouldn’t mind it ALL that much.
Cut/trade Hanson. Keep Samuel, DRC, and Nnamdi (at least for this season), and probably keep 6 DBs (Marsh & Lindley at 4 & 5) with that last spot between Hughes, Calvin, F/A to be named later. Or maybe keep Clayton/Rolle as the 6th “DB”
Well...
I for one would love to see DNA together in a game just once…

Lose Asante and strengthen a division rival at the same time?
I wouldn’t go for that.

Sooo....we get in the 3 way trade, a 1st, a 2nd, and (2) 3rd round picks...
Sorry but doesn’t that sound like highway robbery here…I mean are we straight up raping every team on what a fair trade is? First Arizona then Denver and Washington ha, wow.
As of right now it's just a rumor, but it may happen.
But imagine, having Two first rounders, THREE second rounders, and THREE third rounders!!!
In a draft class that’s supposed to be one of the best of all time……

You mean....
Imagine turning those 2nds and 3rds into about 10 5th and 6th rounders and two reaches? Pretty easy!
This hypo is like me dreaming when I drop a 5 on Powerball. It ain’t never gonna happen…but it’s good to do it sometimes
imagine,
that would be crazy ass shit, if that happens they might as well clear space cause that would put us up to like 15 or 16 picks already,, I would rather see hanson go though and keep asante, he is still good and has not shown any diffrent
anyway you look at it, your corners are covered exceptionally well
but doesn’t the situation at LB and Safety concern you? Didn’t seem like a good time to let Bradley and Mikell go even though they weren’t stand outs. I suspect Eagles will acquire some more defneders.

Well yes,
but we just helped our LB core by signing DT Cullen Jenkins, a great help in the run game. As for the safeties, they’re gonna benefit most from DNA, as they can become more creative, but they will have growing pains. But our pass D still is exceptional.
Rivals beware
They have a lot of faith in Casey Matthews apparently
I’m hoping they sign one or more linebackers. We don’t need studs, just veteran consistency.
As for safety, I’m not too concerneed. Nate Allen was solid last year and Jarrett has talent and will adjust playing next to so many good players.
GO CUSE, BLUE, AND EAGLES!
Casey Matthews is our Mike LB and I'm actually OK with that
watching him in practice, he looks really sharp. Also, training the off season with Casey seems to have paid dividends because that dude is ripped.

Reid loves Hanson. I don’t see it. Great luxury as a 4th corner.

So who gets the boot if Asante stays? Marsh was just our 3rd rd pick so he’s staying, and Lindley showed that he can hack it in this league when he schooled Miles Austin. I see Hanson getting traded or cut because of his contract, age, and lack of roster spots.

Kept 6 corners last year.

…and had a few injured. Lost the Bears game because a couple corners got hurt. Obviously, they’re valuing the hell out of the position. I see your logic, and it makes sense. But I don’t see him going anywhere. Maybe they get him to take a pay cut? Don’t know. But I think Hanson will be an Eagle.

I think that they are gonna want to keep a veteran safety back there so I think that Marlin Jackson (whom I heard was looking good) will get that spot.

Marlin Jackson hasn’t looked good at all to me, and he’s a player I’ve specifically kept an eye on. Looks slow, even a little gimpy at times. I don’t think he has a prayer. It’s a shame. He could have been a really good player if not for his injuries. It wouldn’t surprise me at all if they went into the season with just Allen, Coleman and Jarrett, especially now if they hang onto the best cornerback trio… ever.

Yeah, that sucks.
Like I said I was just going off of what other people were saying. What about Colt Anderson though? I gotta believe that he’ll take up the 4th spot being a special teams demon and all.
Jason Peters: Heart of a Lion, Face of a Chipmunk.

The safeties will be
Allen, Coleman, Jarrett and Colt Anderson as the 4th guy who also plays on all special teams. He was a stud for us last year on STs.
Reid loved McNabb and Dawk. Sometimes you gotta let ’em go.
Hanson’s good, but will never get any better. Marsh, Lindley (maybe Hughes and Calvin) all can. Their ceiling’s higher for this team. Hanson’s last contribution to this team may be a 6th or 7th rounder.
For all of Reid’s faults one thing you can count on him doing is what’s best for the Eagles.

i hope we dont trade asante
we need 3 corners to stop teams like the saints and packers, etc

And is paid to much..

cut him
also, i don’t understand why people think Trevard is the future at CB…He hasn’t shown anything
I think they are probably trying to trade Hanson and can’t find any takers. I don’t believe they are contemplating trading Asante and I don’t think they will. They look at Green Bay and New Orleans and realize that in order to win they are going to need 3 really good corners.

………. hopefully
WRs will be covered well, but won't teams counter with double tight ends
(if they have two good viable TEs) and attack the defense that way – and with Rbs out of the backfield matched up on LBs or Safeties? And, won’t teams that see 3 CBs on the field just run the ball and try to exploit that way?

Intersting situation
Lets assume that we keep Asante, we line up Asante @ LCB, NA @ RCB and DRC in the slot (or in certain down situations or against certain opposition, Asante @ LCB and DRC @ RCB and let NA play a Charles Woodson-like role; blitzing, covering TEs, and dropping back in zone).
Hanson’s only real value would be as injury insurance. $2.2M is expensive insurance, but should one of DNA get hurt, I would feel comfortable with him stepping in to cover the slot.
I think the real question is whether or not Lindley or Marsh can step in should one of DNA get hurt and Hanson is no longer on the roster? I think at this point, Lindley can handle his own and Hanson is expendable. That being said, Andy loves him some Mmmbop, so Asante will probably get traded.
