Ok I was thinking about this last season, and if there's enough interest I'd like to do the betting game again, with some minor changes. I'll try to include a link to the rules each week, but I'm starting this a little early so we can include the preseason (hopefully). So this year we'll do it a little differently so everyone can have a chance, even if they get in late.
Each week you'll be able to wager $300 of 'your own' money. This means that you'll start out with 0 and if you lose everything the first week you'll be at -$300 for the second week. If you come in late or start in week 6 you'll still have 0. This way everyone has a chance to play.
If you have have winnings from previous weeks you may wager that also.
Week 1 you wager $200 and win.
Week 2 you may wager your $200 plus the $300 of 'your own' money for a total of $500.
Week 1 you wager $200 and lose.
Week 2 you may only wager the $300 of 'your own' money.
There is no minimum wager so if you don't like any games you don't have to bet.
There is no maximum wager except as determined by your current holdings (winnings + own money)
Wagers must be posted BEFORE kickoff.
You can add wagers at anytime as long as it's before kickoff.
You can only wager your current money+own money that you start the week of with. IE if you win the 1pm game you can't bet those winnings on the Monday night game.
Only whole dollar bets, no $.08 bets (cheap bastards)
No loaning money or borrowing from other players. There's no elimination this year, so there is no need for this.
I'm sure there's more, but other than that it's the same as last year. I really went back and forth on this, I like the elimination idea, but there were alot of people that wanted in late, or back in last year, so I figured this would solve that problem. Also we'll be able to see who the biggest loser is this year because someone will finish with -$4800, which I think will be fun to see. If anyone has any ideas or suggestions before we start please post them here so I can see if we can implement them. Thanks guys.
