An ongoing debate on BGN has been the question of which side to you support? The obvious answer is neither side because we are fans and they are rich people fighting over our money. But when it comes down to it, you can still pick a side to support. This late in the game, there has to be one side not putting out 100% effort to still not have a deal.
Recent media coverage has highlighted new points of view all putting the Players on the bad side.
1) Player's lawyers want the law suit to go to court. If Manning and Co. win their law suit, the lawyers get a portion/cut/commission/bills/etc that would be in the millions.
2) Veteran players don't want to see preseason games. A settlement in late August would result in maybe only 1 preseason game. If a veteran player is on the cusp of being CUT and replaced by a rookie then this is the edge they need to stay on the team.
Do these new points of view take away from any Player-Love you had?
The only argument I see left for the players is that the Owners were the one's who ended the current CBA 2 years early. But that option was there because of the last CBA agreement. Why was the option even in there? Hard to blame one side simply for taking a valid contract option.
I may not be the majority of the fans, but I watch every EAGLES preseason game and enjoy it VERY VERY much. It's a brief opportunity to see who we actually drafted and why certain players will/won't make the team. Taking this away from us as fans infuriates me. I would give up a regular season game to watch 4 preseason games in a heartbeat!
Is there any other reason to support the Players at this point? Who do you support?
Happy July 4th!
