Eagles Linebackers?
One of our glaring weaknesses on our defense has been a second cb behind Asante. Going into free agency, we are expected to resolve this issue by adding a veteran cb. However, I believe our attention should also be focused on the linebacker position. With the exception of Jamar Chaney (even he's a stretch), I believe the rest of our linebackers are expandable. It looks as if we're moving on from Ernie Simms and Akeem Jordan, and Stewart Bradley has been too injured the past two seasons. We always keep a large stable of linebackers, but most of them are average at best. Too many times have we seen one of our Lbs get burned in coverage by a tight end. I believe we should seriously look into adding one via free agency. Maybe Paul Posluszny (if the price is not too high) or Barrett Ruud would be a nice addition. I know Posluszny was a mlb, but Chaney is versatile enough to play either three Lb positions. Of course, Posluszny has a lengthy injury history, but he is consistent on the field and he can turn into a defensive leader this team needs. Do you guys believe he's worth the risk, and if not, what should be do to strengthen our lb corps.

i want stew and ernie gone. i know that stew has a more loyal following in this city but sadly he’s not that good. honestly, fokou impressed me more than any other LB on the squad last season.
as far as akeem is concerned, i was on board two years ago. he really impressed me. unfortunately i haven’t seen him play at a high level since. besides chaney and fokou, we’re in big trouble at the LB spot.
Ruud is overrated and I don’t think he’d fix the problem. Paul P is solid but he has injury issues just like Stew. In conclusion… I have no idea how to fix this mess at LB.
Umm..
Matthews, Chaney, Fokou are all safe in my book…. Clayton, Rolle, Lloyd, Jeanty, fight for what’s left with whoever else we sign/resign..
Fokou was our best LB last season. He’s fine.
Chaney showed a ton of promise, I don’t really care where he plays he just needs to be on the field at this point and we need a solid backup for if he can’t do it.
Matthews is Castillo’s (And old LB, LB guy) first LB pick. That’s not to be taken lightly. He could play any of the 3 spots.
Clayton… Meh.
Rolle is a small guy, another Safety LB tweener.
Jeanty was injured, he’s a decent backup.
I’m all for bringing Stew back.
Defensive player of the year for 2011 is...
Wild_Eagle!
Yes, Wild_Eagle's infamous reputation did help him get this award. But he shows that he walks the talk that he serves...with his keyboard. Wild_Eagle protects the motherland (BGN) from the evils of noobs, douche-bags, and other assholes. Although he may be crude and unnecessary, all great defenders draws the yellow flag from time to time.

Rumors around Twitter is suggesting that Herzlich could be on his way to Philly. Baltimore and Tampa also in the run for his signature.
I say give the kid a chance. He is a local guy that was supposed to be a 1 round talent. Tremendous upside, hard worker, willing to go the extra mile to succeed in the NFL. With the 90 man roster, why not? Why the hell not!?
I’m really high on Keenan Clayton, Casey Matthews and Jamar Chaney. Those three are keepers IMO.
Rolle is a role player (No pun intended).
Fokou is a good enough starter and there should be no rush to get rid of him. He brings a high energy presence to the defense that sticks out against the run. He flashes from time to time and I hope he can continue to get better. I like Fokou.
Akeem Jordan and Omar Gaither got screwed. Both are good players who didn’t get the shot they deserved for reasons that are yet to be explained.
Ernie Sims is garbage. God that guy is awful.
Stewart Bradley is mediocre and injury prone. Let him go.
Jeanty is a big, physical run defending SLB who is a special teams heathen. Depending on how good of condition he is in, he could be a good reserve. He was a solid player for the Bengals.
I would love to bring in Poz because he is tough. Ruud is softer than charmin bath tissue, he isn’t good.
I can't disagree with any of this.
Bradley is unbelievably overrated. And Sims is just a workout warrior.
Q: What do a leaky tampon and Sean McDermott's defense have in common?
A: They are equally ineffective in the red zone.
"If Roger Goodell was on fire and I had to piss on him to put him out, I wouldn't do it...I hate him and will never respect him."
--The often wrong (but right in this instance) James Harrison.
Sims was a standout in detroit cause he seemed like the only LB making a legitimate effort to be a playmaker
Came to Philly and shit the bed.
I'm a big fan of fokou, what he overcame last year with McDermott screwing him in the ass trying to play him at de
In training camp, the one play that surprised me the most is during the Tennessee game where he blew up the fullback on the flat and preventing him from getting open. I hope he’s a starter this year cause he earned it
My mojo so dope. BITCH!
Revis Island, NA continent, Jimmy Smith's EGO
Yeah that play was pretty great
definitely a good player with a great head on his shoulders. I remember that play pefectly. I saw the fullback come into the flat and thought “fuck, dump off for at least a first down.” then fokou rocked the shit out of the guy.
