Ok, so as many of us know, Puffdaddy's a retard and know's nothing about shutdown CB's.
First off let's take a look at his vigorously defended argument that Cromartie is equal with Asante :
Player A :
Success Rate- 78%
Completions allowed- 19
TD's allowed- 2
Player B :
Success Rate- 63%
Completions Allowed- 42
TD's allowed- 7
INT's- 3 INT's.
Who's the better CB? If you say player A you're right... Player A is Asante, Player B is Cromartie.
So puffdaddy's wrong in his "analysis" that Cromartie is equal to Asante.
Let's look at whether Asante's a shutdown CB:
Now onto his definition of "shut down" CB.. Which he uses Dion Sander's words:
“I guess he wanted me to say that he’s the best corner in the game just because he accumulated so many interceptions. Interceptions are great. They create turnovers and you get the ball offensively, but that doesn’t constitute that you’re the best in the game because many of the best corners in the game, they don’t even throw their way that much to accumulate those types of interceptions."
So by Dions terms a shutdown CB is a guy who doesn't get targeted...
Hmm Asante was targeted 36 times. AND STILL MANAGED 7 INT's...
My point of this is that Asante's (1) Better than Cromartie and (2) a shut down CB...
It doesn't matter the style, physical, off the LOS, pick machine etc.. It just matters that opposing QB's are afraid to throw that CB's direction, and teams FEAR throwing towards Asante.. Thus making him a shutdown CB..
Suck it puffdaddy.
