Interview with Jamaal Jackson (NEW)
Hey Bleeding Green Nation,
It's Max Strauss here. I bet a lot of you remember me... I really hope you do. Basically you have my name already, but I'm a high school student in the eleventh grade, I can't wait to be a senior... only a month away, lol. But, I work really hard in my spare time to interview NFL players. I've interviewed other Eagles players such as Shawn Andrews, Leonard Weaver, Michael Vick, and Darryl Tapp.
I'm here today to share an interview with Eagles' Center, Jamaal Jackson! Jamaal Jackson played college football at Delaware State, and he entered the 2003 NFL Draft. He was an undrafted pickup by the Eagles, but has remained with the Eagles throughout his eight-year NFL career.
Strauss : How much impact did Hank Fraley have on your career?
Jackson : A lot. I learned how to be a center and leader of the huddle, and a leader of the line because of Hank. I just watched him the years that I was there. I was just trying to take everything that I could. I just tried to be a sponge while I was around him. I asked him a whole bunch of questions, just watched him at practice about how he conducted himself, how he held himself in front of the media, and at meeting rooms, just being vocal. He really helped me out a lot. If it wasn't for him, I don't think I would be as successful as I am playing center just because I had such a great teacher in front of me.

I hope it provides some insight to who he is, and maybe gives you a break from all the lockout information.
Thank you so much for letting me share. Please share your feedback!

AR should have to wear a Flava Flav necklace until he learns how to manage a fucking clock.
Screw being the holder, I wanna be called the quarterback of the field goal team.

I think KByars is trying to say that if you’re not gonna include at least part of the interview itself, this should really be a fanshot. I think we all understand that you want to get more page views and we respect that, but I’d be more willing to visit your site if you included some of the interview here. If not, you should make it a fanshot.

I understand.
I added a quote, hopefully you guys can leave thoughts on the interview, and not on the FanPost, but all good.
Thanks for the suggestion to add a quote.

Well,
If you make a fanpost, people are going to comment on the fanpost.
Also, it’s not great form to make a fanpost just to link to your own work outside the site. Stuff like this is what we have fanshots for.
That being said, I enjoyed the interview.

Thanks!
I made FanPosts a while ago for my other interviews, wasn’t that big of an issue…
Now, it is, I’ll make sure if I have the Eagles interviews, I’ll make FanShots.

I think Jamaal Jackson's gone.
Defensive player of the year for 2011 is...
Wild_Eagle!
Yes, Wild_Eagle's infamous reputation did help him get this award. But he shows that he walks the talk that he serves...with his keyboard. Wild_Eagle protects the motherland (BGN) from the evils of noobs, douche-bags, and other assholes. Although he may be crude and unnecessary, all great defenders draws the yellow flag from time to time.

He's not.
He’s signed through 2013.
He’s due about 1.575 million next year I think…

Umm
he hasn’t played football in 2 years. And those what 6-8 plays he had before tearing his triceps don’t really count to me considering he wasn’t playing that well anyway.
You need to keep in mind his triceps are always going to be a potential problem, his knees completely untested, he’s going to be 31-32 next season.. Jamaal’s gone especially since we have McGlynn who filled in very well for him and who I see as a rising stud at Center.

Yes, Jamaal might be valuable for the next center.
Especially he could possibly play the Hank Fraley role and help McGlynn learn the playbook and learn how to compose himself?

McGlynn
did a very good job last season he never snapped a ball until late last offseason. His first game action came in the preseason and then he became the man in the middle 2 drives into 2010 and did a good job since.. McGlynn composed himself nicely in my opinion, he made some bad calls, he made the wrong calls from time to time but for a guy who’s never played Center before and who was pretty much thrown into this he did extremely well and honestly as an OL guy surprised me with his play…
Now he needs experience, he needs to get the calls right, he needs to work on some things but he does so much good for us that people fail to see… Watch him on the screens, he’s getting to the LB and knocking them over then getting into the secondary with McCoy freeing him up.. Look at the cowboys game (I think it was Dallas) where we ran to the left with McCoy to kill the clock, Peters and Herremans get the credit for that blocking but nobody saw McGlynn moving into the 2nd and 3rd level to free McCoy up for 3-4 more yards.
Another reason why I think Jamaal’s done as our center is that he’s a big, road grinder type player.. Our new system is a zone blocking scheme where the OLman are more smaller, quicker, and more athletic than what we’re used too.. The Center is especially important in this because there are times where he may need to get over a gap to get his man (roughly 3 1/2 yards to his guy he’s supposed to dispose of).. That takes some athleticism and I don’t see that type of movement in Jamaal especially after his Knee injury… With McGlynn I see that ability… Not to mention the whole getting to the LB and stuff.

At least one question about his injury, how he’s feeling physically or what he’s doing to stay in shape might have been more informative than describing himself as ice cream. Not a bad fanshot though.

Sorry. I see where you're at on the injury question though.
Thanks.
