So this is the thinnest of thin rumors, but since it's the Redskins we can at least have a little chuckle about it. In a recent piece about options that could be out there to improve the Miami Dolphins' QB situation, beat writer Omar Kelly took a special focus on Vince Young. He lobbies for the Dolphins to sign Young, but says that it's the Redskins who appear to be the favorites to get him.
Two years ago I banged the drum for the Dolphins to sign Michael Vick and got stoned, so go ahead and throw them….But before you do look up Young’s career stats and win-loss record. I’m hearing the Redskins are the front-runner for his services, so it’ll be interesting to see if the Dolphins get in the game.
Kelly also does mention Kevin Kolb as an option for the Dolphins, but doesn't seem high on the idea.
I’ve been told Kevin Kolb would be the option that fits the best, but I’ve done the film work on Kolb and it’s a bit concerning. He checks down plenty, and doesn’t have a big enough body of work. So the max I’d give up for Kolb is a second-round pick. Plus, the Eagles have hoodwinked the Dolphins on a QB trade before.
