Philadelphia (B+)
Pro Bowlers: 7 (t-14th)
Draftees Active in 2010: 45 (t-5th)
Players with 50+ Career AV: 2 (t-17th)
Players with 20+ Career AV: 19 (t-9th)
Best Pick: DE Trent Cole (5th round, 2005)
Worst Pick: DE Jerome McDougle (1st round, 2003)
Summary: The Eagles didn’t draft a bona fide star in the first round all decade, but they have had as many steals later in the draft as anybody. They also deserve a lot of credit for covering the running back position in glory for a full decade without a draftee in the top 50 (Brian Westbrook, LeSean McCoy, Correll Buckhalter).

I dont disagree. But thats not what the author was saying. They graded them overall…but noted that 1st round didnt generate a bona fide superstar

Ick.
After McNabb, Reid’s best first round pick has to be Maclin. I suppose one could make an argument for pre-injury, pre-breakdown Shawn Andrews or maybe Lito Sheppard, but that’s a terrible record.
I may change my opinion of trading out of the 1st round now……

Wait...
The Eagles didn’t draft a bona fide star in the first round all decade
What? What about Freddie Mitchell?!
(whispering)
Oh, that’s what “bona fide” means? Really? It sounds much more dirty and bad. Stupid French.
(whispering)
Latin? Really? Shit.
Under-rated comment, I lol’d.

how the fuck did the giants get an a- and we get a b+
we are consistenetly better than they are.
JoeD AKA The Voice Of Reason
They drafted Eli Manning
Greatest QB to ever play in the superbowl… Any team who drafts him gets an automatic A
Michael Vick for MVP
Actually, the Chargers drafted Manning. But I still approve of not missing the opportunity to take a shot at Manning.
And New York drafted Philip Rivers who is a pretty great QB.
So Good Job NYG.

Because
In 3 of the 4 criteria the Giants ranked higher.
The only one the Eagles were better was the number of draftees active – but then when you have picked nearly double the players the Giants have in the last couple of seasons you should have more active.
It is accepted that the 2007 draft class helped the Giants make the 2007 playoffs and of course win the SB.

What G Brit said
also, since 2006, the Eagles have had a half a win more (a tie) than the Giants and Cowboys in the regular season
Self-praise is for losers. Be a winner. Stand for something. Always have class, and be humble.
-John Madden
Throw in
that from 2006 onwards the Giants have more playoff wins than any other NFC East team.
