Watkins a choice of substance over style - NFC East Blog - ESPN
Watkins started all 25 games he played in at Baylor. He impressed when facing Texas A&M star defensive end Von Miller last season, a player who was selected second overall by Denver in this draft. The question, of course, is whether Watkins can continue his rapid maturation at the next level. It’s one thing to enjoy the game when it comes easily to you in college. Fort Hamilton’s Jarrett, Eagles Appear to Be Perfect Match | Brooklyn Eagle, Bay Ridge Eagle Brooklyn, NY
Reid paid Jarrett the ultimate compliment by comparing him to former Eagles All-Pro safety Brian Dawkins, one of the hardest hitters in recent NFL memory. "That’s a privilege just to be compared to one of the best ever to play the game," Jarrett said when he asked of the comparison. "I always enjoyed watching Brian Dawkins play. He’s a very forceful intimidator." Oddly, Jarrett’s role model at the position is one of the most notorious names in NFL history. "[Ex-Raiders safety] Jack Tatum is someone I always modeled myself after. He was known as ‘The Assassin’," Jarrett revealed.

If there is no pro football Sept. 11, Goodell, commissioner of the NFL, and Smith, head of the now-decertified players union, will be abject failures — front men in suits.

Todd Herremans most likely won’t be swinging over to right tackle in the Eagles’ restructured 2011 offensive line, head coach Andy Reid said in a radio interview on Tuesday.
