Redskins Coaches Want You To Know That They Stand With The Owners
Earlier this week we noted that the NFL coaches association filed a brief with the 8th circuit court in support of the players' effort to end the NFL's lockout. It seemed like a nice little show of solidarity between the coaches and players. However, the Washington Redskins coaches would like to make it very clear that they had nothing to do with it... In fact, the entire Redskins coaching staff hand signed a statement disavowing the brief filed by the coaches association and letting us all know that they stand with their awesome ownership.
"The Washington Redskins' coaching staff has not given its backing to the brief filed with the 8th Circuit Court of Appeals on behalf of the National Football League Coaches Association. Our former representative, Kirk Olivadotti, is no longer with the organization and no member of our coaching staff was consulted prior to this action being taken.
"We stand united with our ownership and the brief does not reflect our thoughts on the matter. We, like everyone else, are hopeful that we can return to playing football. We look forward to a new CBA and welcoming back our players as soon as possible."
Anyone to care to bet that Dan Snyder forced them to sign this statement? He seems like the type of guy that might do that...

What’s funny is that it’s not crazy in the slightest to think that Dan Snyder strongly urged them to do that, and if that’s the case, Shanny and Co are a gutless bunch.

Wilpon thinks he's going to get Yankees money. He won't get it. Everything's been wrong with this team.

I'm the shmuck who gave him my contract of loyalty even though he's an idiot. And now, he's increased that idiocy by 65-70%

I dont understand the point of this ...
Are they trying to lobby support from other coaches on other teams? If so, who cares who they support? Kind of arrogant to think that their opinions matter in this.
Futhermore, the coaching contracts are already done, they are not sitting on the edge of being traded or free agency, so they really dont have much intrest in this. Not in comparision to some players anyway.
However, if their statement is true that :
no member of our coaching staff was consulted prior to this action being taken.
Who is filing these breifs? Its like putting an ex-girlfriend down as a character reference for a job without telling her. Seems to me that this whole situation is shady. Briefs filed without notice to referenced parties, offers being made without disclosure, etc…
The only thing that seems “normal” is the Skins showing their lack of brains, or lack of a spine (one of the two – if not both – is correct).
As I understand it, the NFLCA has reps from each team. The Redskins fired the coach that was the rep, and the coaches hadn’t yet elected a replacement, hence they were not technically represented.
It is a really strange association. Represents the interests of assistant coaches, but not head coaches … and since assistant coaches want to be head coaches some day, there is a real issue with alignment of interests. Which is why this isn’t a union, it is a trade association — while assistants certainly could have better working conditions, they are sufficiently close to the hand that feeds that nobody wants to be the guy that bites it.
It is an odd association and they appear to have almost no influence or power…

After getting off of the McNabb Nose-Dive Dirtball Cannon, you walk past the Haunted House (Featuring the red-faced Shanahan who screams at random people), swing by the Haynesworth Pine-Rider (a 600 ft bench, longest and most expensive in the United States!), beside the Clinton Porits Costume Shop, you’ll find the Dan Snyder Retirement Home (where, instead, YOU get paid for being past your prime).
Welcome to the lolskins amusement park, where its the basement of the NFC East forever.
I would like to thank my hands for being so great, for allowing me to type this post.

Despite the sycophantism, Snyder cut coaches pay, the only team in the East to do so
And Kyle could only be a “coach” for one team: the LOLSkins.
Like free agency, Snyder proves that he values winning pissing contests over winning football games.
Maybe his coaches wish they had the freedom to agree, maybe they don’t. Maybe they had never thought about it because they fired their rep. Regardless, to have the coaches come out with this statement now serves very little purpose, and no good purpose.
1. Showing that at least one owner and staff found the coaches brief important enough to take these steps only strengthens the original brief.
2. This will not endear the ’Skins staff to the players when they return. I doubt the net impact will amount to much, but how much will it take to push the ’Skins locker room over the edge? How much will it take for that free agent to take the similar deal in another city?
3. This will not endear the ’Skins coaching staff to other coaching staffs. They are going to have to get someone on the phone if they want to continue to give away draft picks.
Bengals are right there with them.

Probably worse, because at least at the root of all his nonsense, I really think Snyder wants to win. I don’t know that Mike Brown cares.

That Guide Was Chock Full of
Awesome. Just awsome.
It’d be stunned if this wasn’t the result of Snyder forcing signatures.
I’d say he’s the worst owner in the NFL, but I kind of like having him around, if only because so long as he owns the Redskins, we’re not going to have to worry about them having a great season.
Never argue with an idiot. They'll bring you down to their level and then beat you with experience.
It’s amazing this “team” never runs out of material.

Snyder is pissed off because
This is the time of year when he “wins the superbowl”. …the off season. the lock out is really cutting into his playoff run. Come September, it’s time to pack the bags and head to the islands.

Dan Snyder is a fucking riot a minute
I hope he never sells that team. Even during a lockout the Redskins manage give me a daily laugh.
