The date of May 16th of 2011 will live in infamy. The day where the 8th Circuit Court in St. Louis put it out there, the players are not going to win this courtroom battle. They can wait for their appeal on June 3rd, they can try and take this to the Supreme Court, they can kick and scream all they want like the spoiled little pricks(not that the owners aren't either) that they are, but in the end the have no leverage. The owners offered you a decent CBA proposal last March and you spit in their faces.
Now it's time to put up or shut up. The majority of the players will be demanding a deal pretty soon. Most guys have bills to pay on their mansions and their Italian sports cars. Players want their 6-figure workout bonuses and they mainly just want to get paid. The next 48 hours will tell us how committed the NFLPA truley is to either saving the entire 2011 season or if they want to contiune to fight to get more money.
My question and point of this post is who do you support now? If you would of asked me this during the 2010 season, I would of said the NFLPA without hesitation. Now, after the players forced the lockout by suing the NFL and rejecting all CBA proposals I'm not so sure. I'd probably say neither side just bring me football but that is the obvious statement of the year.
