Were probably screwed at RCB

It appears as though the Ealges have put all their eggs into one basket.  RCB is still a glaring hole on this team as we basically neglected the position in the draft.  The general consensus, which certainly could be wrong, is that Marsh doesnt have the 'fluid' hips to start, and is very raw having only played CB for a few years.  Basically, hes nothing more than a slot CB at this point.  The Eagles could have gone CB in each of the first two rounds, but elected not to, passing on both Jimmy Smith and Brandon Harris.  I really question this decision.

The reason is that after Nnamdi Asomugha, there really arent a whole lot of good CBs in free agency.  I dont see how the Bengals let Johnathan Joseph walk, and after NA and Joseph, it appears to me the next best CBs available are Chris Carr and Ike Taylor.  Ike Taylors 31.  They say corner is a young mans game, and I would have to question how much longer Taylor can play there.  Plus, Andy doesnt like 30 year olds anyway.  Carr just had a career year and I think it would be somewhat foolish to overpay for a guy like that since theres a good chance hell regress to the mean.

After those two, it looks like the next best corner is Antonio Cromartie.  Hes blah.  Decent, but will get burnt with some regularity.  He would be a definite upgrade over Dimitri/Janson/Lindley, but hes still not ideal.

So you can see that after NA, theres really not a whole lot out there in terms of corners.  The reason I have a BIG issue with this is the fact that EVER SINGLE OTHER FRIGGIN TEAM IN THE LEAGUE IS GOING TO WANT NA TOO.  Asomugha would represent a huge upgrade at CB for every single other NFL team and would be well worth the 20mil a year salary that he just might get.   Just reading around here, it seems like people assume that were going to get Nnamdi; that we already have a handshake deal in place.  Dream on.  We almost literally have a 1 in 32 chance of getting him.  Those arent good odds.

Another thing I see around here a lot is that people seem to think the Eagles have a handshake agreement to trade Kevin Kolb for Patrick Peterson after the lockout goes away.  They dont.  PP >>>> Kolb and the Cardinals would never make that trade.  Patrick Peterson wont be on this team any time soon, so just forget about it.

In conclusion, I have a sinking feeling that the Eagles are going to wind up with either a meh FA (like Cromartie or Carlos Rogers) or, even worse, theyll do the same thing they did last year; nothing, in which case Lindley would probably get the job.
