First off this has been talked about in the threads. But I'd like to elaborate on it a little bit more and well I doubt this would ever happen, infact I'm merely writing this so we have something to occupy some time, it's something fun to think about.

The first thing that'd have to happen to make this work is that we'd have to trade up to the top 10, let's say to #5 to Arizona, we give them Kolb + our 2nd we get the #5.

With the 5th pick we take Patrick Peterson , (about 95% of Eagle Nation just blew a load.)

Then with the #23 we select Jimmy Smith..

BUT CALM DOWN MY FRIENDS, LET ME EXPLAIN...

Mikel is a FA, Coleman's a more than capable replacement should Mikel walk.. However what if we moved PP to SS, he's got the coverage ability, he can play down near the LOS, and he's a pretty good tackler. Why not move him to safety?

Now you may be saying I'm dumb because he'd be better suited for FS rather than SS and we already have Nate Allen.. But you must remember we pretty much use both Safety positions interchangeably, and we always gave, so having PP and Nate Allen both back there wouldn't be to bad, and in today's Pass Happy NFL, having 2 good Cover Safety's who can also tackle why not?

This move would allow us to instantly upgrade our Safety position, and instantly upgrade the RCB position..

Smith at RCB, Asante at LCB, PP at SS and Nate at FS..
