With the thirty-seventh pick in the 2011 BGN Mock Draft, l3irdman3901 selects...
Jonathan Baldwin - WR, Pittsburgh
The Cleveland Browns have numerous needs that must be addressed through this year's draft. The lack of an elite wide receiver and problems along the defensive line are the most glaring needs. After releasing Shaun Rodgers and Kenyon Coleman and hiring Dick Jauron to implement a 4-3 defense, it is obvious that there are major changes coming to the front seven. While drafting Marcell Dareus in the first round helps start the renovation of this defense, it also left behind the opportunity to give Colt McCoy an elite pass catcher from the top tier of wideouts in this class. Although another defensive pick could be in line here, such as FS Rahim Moore or LB Martez Wilson, I believe it is in the best interest of the Browns to take a shot at a play-maker on the other side of the ball.
More after the jump...
With that being said, the pick here has to be Jonathan Baldwin. Baldwin has the freakish athletic ability and rare measurables it takes to become a #1 receiver in the NFL. Running a 4.5 forty yard dash at 6'4, 230lbs, Baldwin has a great combination of size and speed. In comparison, A.J. Green also ran a 4.5 forty, but he is 20lbs lighter. Because of Baldwin's strength, he is tough to bring down and will put up great YAC numbers. Baldwin also led all wide receivers at the combine with a 42" vertical. With his tremendous size and vertical leap, he should be a nightmare to cover around the end zone. If the Cleveland coaching staff could improve Baldwin's route running, then they may have finally found their #1 wide receiver.
Next on the clock will be P_Roach17 with the Arizona Cardinals.
