Philadelphia Eagles 2012 Draft Picks

[Update by JimmyK, 01/04/12 5:05 PM EST ] - The Eagles have 10 draft picks, listed here.

A number of you were wondering about the Eagles' 2012 full slate of draft picks as of the end of the 2011 draft. By my count, they currently hold 9 picks in 2012, which of course can change depending on whether or not they're able to find a trade partner for Kevin Kolb.

6 Patriots The Patriots acquired LB Tracy White and the Eagles' 2012 seventh-round draft choice in exchange for the Pats' 2012 sixth-round draft choice.

Hopefully you can update this chart in a few days/weeks to two 1’s and another 2nd or 3rd

Right, and hopefully I can add that the Eagles will have absolutely no shot of getting any compensatory picks since they signed Nnamdi Asomugha.

Read the comment section of the 6th round pick we got from the Pats for Tracy White.

Except that every single other team in the NFL wants him too and is likely saying the exact same thing.

But objectively speaking ...

… a bunch of corner-needy teams used high draft picks on corners. Another bunch are in cap hell (assuming there’s a new CBA with cap) or are just cheap. At 30, I don’t think NA is in for a rebuilding gig, so that’s another 12 teams you can wipe off the map.

I really think the list of suitors will be short, and his stated preference is the Jets to team with Revis. I also think someone who had a really good season last year but could use another defensive stud like the Bears or Falcons could get in the mix and overpay.

But considering we are going to contend with or without him, we have the money to pay him, he can play across from Asante Samuel, which will only make both of them better, and considering Philly is a city where he can really make a difference with his foundation, I think our pitch is as good as anyone’s. I would really only put the Jets ahead of us in terms of the pursuit.

NA is our kind of personality and player and he would OWN Philly.

I also think we need Q back if we get him. No point in having beast corners and green safeties over top.

Thanks

We’ll be stacked, we’ll definitely have to move down with one of the 6’s and get a couple 7’s, that’s definitely our most successful round… Can’t wait to add an additional 1st and 3rd. I heard somewhere that next year’s draft is going to be even strong than this year’s, so it’s good to have a lot of picks…

2010 Draft Rebiew Article?

We are so fortunate that every year we are drafting 3-5 more players than the average team. Because of this, it seems that ever year we have more luxury picks, more flexibility, and this leads to being able to move around in future drafts, have competition at spots, and keep us young as a team.

By the way, on this draft weekend, before we look ahead to 2012, let’s not forget how important our 2010 draft was. We have some damn good sophomores coming back. Looking back, considering the top two guys got hurt, that’s an “A” draft. All of these guys should make the team…
