With the fifty-first pick in the 2011 BGN Mock Draft, Bob_Q selects...
Ras-I Dowling - CB, Virginia
In the first round, the Buccaneers did a good job of addressing one of their biggest needs by picking up defensive end Adrian Clayborn. Now, they will have to turn their sights to their next biggest holes: wide receiver and cornerback.
While prolific WR/KR Randall Cobb is still available, the bigger value at this point in this particular mock is at cornerback. The Bucs aren't necessarily desperate for an immediate upgrade at cornerback, but with Ronde Barber on his last legs and Aqib Talib's continued legal problems, they'll need a successor in the wings.
Virginia's Ras-I Dowling fits their need perfectly. If it weren't for the fact that he was recovering from a slew of injuries, Dowling could easily slip into the first round due to his 6'2" size and excellent cover skills. The Bucs would even be able to go easy on him during his first year in the NFL, using him as a nickel corner and third safety until he fully recovers.
Next on the clock will be BluLion with the New York Giants.
