I am a big fan of discussions and debates, especially when it involves subjects I am passionate about. Like the Eagles. Especially like the Eagles Draft. There is something about trying to figure out ahead of time what approach the powers to be will ultimately take during the draft that gets my fire going. I love it. And I have seen that I am not alone in that respect, especially on this site. Quality vs Quantity definitions after the jump.
I know what I think they should do, but I want to know what the rest of you think. So, in the interest of initiating a spirited discussion, or maybe even a heated debate, which approach do you feel AR and Lil Howie should employ for the draft: Quality or Quantity?
For the sake of this FanPost (btw, my first, so take it easy on me but feel free to offer constructive criticism, I am all about improvement), I am defining what Quality and Quantity mean to me, as others may have a slightly different take on what each approach truly means.
Quality will be defined as trading later/future picks to move up and select players earlier than your original drafting position and/or ending the draft with less picks that what you started with (i.e. start the draft with 10 picks but end the draft with only taking 8 players due to trades).
Quantity will be the opposite, trading down and accumulating later picks and/or ending the draft with more picks than what you started with (example, last year's draft).
Please offer your thoughts below and support your answer with some reasoning. Looking forward to what everyone has to say. Thanks, and have a pleasant day!
