2011 BGN Community Mock Draft Pick #42: The Houston Texans
With the forty-second pick in the 2011 BGN Mock Draft, wild_eagle selects...
Aaron Williams - DB, Texas
Last season the Texans had an atrocious defense, and an awful offensive line. Nothing really went there way. I thought about going OL with a center like Stefen Wisniewski or Danny Watkins to help that terrible Offensive Line, however I think their secondary is a bigger need, they can't win games if they cannot stop the pass.
This is why I chose Aaron Williams out of Texas. Williams is a physical player, and seems to make big plays when needed. His 4.5 40-time means he could be a CB or a Safety. This plays in well for the Texans who can pretty much use anybody back there at any position. Williams will most likely start immediately and at 45 is a very good value pick. I actually see him fitting in at Safety for them because of the way he plays and this would allow him to play to his strengths which is make plays on the ball and tackle.
Next on the clock will be Kanade_Tachibana with the Minnesota Vikings. Please have your pick in by 6:00 pm EST.
Previous Picks: 1 - Nick Fairley 2 - Patrick Peterson 3 - Blaine Gabbert 4 - Cam Newton 5 - Von Miller 6 - Marcell Dareus 7 - Prince Amukamara 8 - A.J. Nice pick.
AR should have to wear a Flava Flav necklace until he learns how to manage a fucking clock.
Thank you.. At 45, he's just to good of a value to pass up, and he fills a need.

Yes, Wild_Eagle's infamous reputation did help him get this award. But he shows that he walks the talk that he serves...with his keyboard. Wild_Eagle protects the motherland (BGN) from the evils of noobs, douche-bags, and other assholes. Although he may be crude and unnecessary, all great defenders draws the yellow flag from time to time.

Not quite yet
But it looks like he at least logs in frequently. I’m going to start narrowing the window on these late picks, though. As Imp pointed out, it’s not fair to the guys who still have picks to make.

Great pick.
Texas kid playing for the Texans…the equivalent of Wilkerson playing for Philly. Even if he wasn’t a really good player, which he will be, this is a no-brainer.

I didn't even make the Texas kid, playing for the Texans correlation lol

not a bad pick, but
the texans actually have a pretty good o-line, especially when it comes to run blocking…
Schaub got sacked quite a bit,
and got harassed almost every time he dropped back.. He needs help up front.

Four the Texans’ five starting offensive linemen finished in the top six at their respective positions in Pro Football Focus’ player ratings for 2010. Eric Winston was sixth at right tackle, Chris Myers was third at center, Wade Smith was second at left guard, and Mike Brisiel finished sixth at right guard. Thanks to improved run blocking, left tackle Duane Brown even finished with his first positive rating.

Great pick, good value at a definate position of need. I don’t see him playing safety, He’ll start at corner for them almost right away I’d bet.

I'm about 90% sure he'll be a CB for them..
However he’s a tad slow IMHO for a CB. But you never know.

No he won't
The Texans should be bringing in a veteran CB to start. No way in hell will another rookie start at CB

Johnathan Joseph possibly
Think about it, they know we’re desperate for secondary help, and they might be willing to overpay. Why wouldn’t you come to Houston? Also the strip clubs down here are great, which I’m sure plenty of people enjoyed them while visiting Houston for the Final Four. That alone is enticing enough, but then you add in no state income tax, cheap cost of living, great weather nearly year round, & what’s not to like about Houston?

cmon man the texans biggest need is Safety and if moore is still on the board this is a no brainer. I know williams is good but with Moore left dont like this pick. Wondering why u took williams instead.

They move Grover Quin to safety.. CB's a bigger need. Hands down.

From a Texans fan perspective, I hate this pick
We’d rather have Rahim Moore than another rookie CB. Also, BTW it’s Glover Quin, not Grover

Oh shit I got some obscure player on a team I literally know
Owen Daniels, Schaub, Andre Johnson, Foster and Williams’ names on… Oh fuck..
Anyway CB helps needed more than anything.
