I've only been reading this site for about a year, and this is my first post. Mostly because I find the amount of knowledge thrown around here intimidating. Please be gentle, I'm just trying to spark some intelligent conversation!
I've been been checking various football sites for draft insight since the Super Bowl clock ticked to zero. Understandably, most sites have the Eagles going OL (Carimi, Sherrod, ect.) or CB (Jimmy Smith, Brandon Harris, ect.). I see that some people even have Cam Newton being taken at 23.
I have no idea what the hell Andy and Co. will try to pull. I'm getting sick of seeing Carimi or Harris mocked at the 23rd pick. I'm tired of assuming the new CBA will be reached (even though it appears it almost is). Let's hear some real "outside the box" predictions! I'll start...
Eagles hired Washburn and Mudd for a reason. The FO like who they have on the team, but they want these guys to work some miracles and coach them up to a higher lever of play. I'm assuming there's no new CBA. I'm assuming that we do sign Nnmadi Asoughmaouhh;ldsf;ledflWTF?. Under those circumstances, I would like our FO to trade our 23rd, into the 2nd, draft Aaron Williams and/or Ben Ijalana with one of those 2nd rounders (or both preferably). Then I'd like them to draft... Colin Kapernick.
I love this kid. 6'5" 233lbs. 4.53 40yd dash. He's athletic as hell and a cannon arm. His college stats got better and better each year. Observe... Colin Kapernick College Stats
Dude can ball. He actuall kinda reminds me of Vick, right? Just taller, heavier, and younger. I believe that we cna coach the shit outta this kid for 2-3 years while Vick mentors him and wins a few Super Bowls (I hope). Then Kapernick can take over where Vick leaves off. I know some of you are wondering "What about Kolb?" He will be traded once the CBA is reached. No doubt about that. Even if he isn't, would anyone really miss Mike Kafka?
Am I crazy? Does this sound feasible? Let me hear your thoughts on what the FO is gonna do.
