Eagles Jason Peters Arrested In Louisiana

Eagles pro bowl left tackle Jason Peters was arrested last night in Shreveport, LA for a loud music violation according to TMZ. The site reports that police asked Peters to turn down the music in his car several times and he refused. He reportedly also refused to show the police his ID.

Peters was in town to catch a performance by rapper Rick Ross, who ironically was also arrested in later in a separate incident for marijuana possession.

This is rather reminiscent of Dez Bryant situation from last week. Having your music too loud or your pants too low is probably a somewhat silly thing for the authorities to hassle a guy about, but for the players to allow things to escalate to the point of getting arrested or causing a big newsworthy incident is incredibly stupid. There's just some battles that aren't worth fighting. Cops telling you to turn the music down is one. Just turn it down, or go somewhere else, or make any one of many possible decisions other than the one that landed you in a jail for a couple hours.

Well he can’t suspend him at all now…

But either way, I doubt something as minor as this would draw a suspension. A fine maybe.

I think that the owners should incur all fines for the players stupid arrests, its their fault they are out gallivanting and not in the training room!

I’m sorry but thats dumb. If these player’s just used an ounce of common sense they could avoid these bullshit arrests. That’s like saying if the auto union went on strike the company should pay for the idiocracy of their employees if they get in trouble. Terrible comment.

I can’t agree with Talon Talent more. Nothing pisses me off more than trying to blame someone else for your mistakes. Jason Peters is a grown man and responsible for his own actions. So unless there’s a pickture of Jeff Lurie turning up the radio, it’s entirely Jason Peters fault. You cannot, no matter how hard you try, pass the blame to someone else.

This is just dumb. What is he trying to prove by refusing the officer’s directives? Turn the damn music down and be on your way! I just smh when I hear about player’s responding with ignorance to something so simple. Whatever he gets nailed with, he deserves.

It almost seems like a ploy. With the union playing some pretty stupid games, like asking rooks to not attend the draft, it makes me wonder what kind of nonsense they are saying to the players behind the scenes.
Are they almost asking the players to" test" goodell? Because right now there is nothing that the NFL can do about this.
now I am not saying that they’ve been told to go get arrested or anything……but pumping their heads full of" they can’t do anything to you right now" can certainly go a long way…..

With all of the Eagles in the news, with their trainers and stuff. I was wondering what our LT was doing with his off season. He seems like a dude that doesn’t even get into football shape until halfway through the season, so I was wondering what the heck kind of shape he would be in whenever he comes back.
