Adrian Peterson: NFL is like modern day slavery
In reference to playing in the NFL Adrian Peterson says "It's modern-day slavery, you know? People kind of laugh at that, but there are people working at regular jobs who get treated the same way, too. With all the money"

Definition SLAVE LABOR
Adrian Peterson’s current contract – 5yrs – 40.5 MIL with 17 MIL in guarantees
Which averages out to – 8.1 Million dollars a season.
So far in his career he’s rushed for 5,782 yards.
In taking his total amount of yards and his 40.5 Mil contract he has “earned” $142,765 PER RUSHING YARD let me say that again $142K PER YARD lol.
His projected BASE salary in 2011 is set to be… 10.72 Mil and if he has an AVERAGE AP year he will finish around 1300 yards which would put him at $121,268 per rushing yard.
Man these are some awfully well paid slaves. Must be rough huh AP….oh and that’s not to mention all his endorsements and contracts he has with products like Nike lol
sounds like slave labor to me…

Your math is wrong but...
your point still stands. If he rushes for 1300 yards for 10.72 mil, that’s $8246 per rushing yard, not $121,268. Going by your math, AP would be getting 1.2 mil for every 10 yards and 10.2 mil for every 100 yards.
how many jerseys does he sell for the Vikings?
how much more money do the Vikings earn because of AP?
it all evens out in the end.
welcome to the NFL

That’s stupid. You basically made an argument defending every bad ever. It’s ok that Antrel Rolle compares NFL players to soldiers, you know what he was trying to say. It’s ok that Latrell Sprewell turned down a contract saying he had a family to feed, you know what he was trying to say.
RIP Jim Johnson, best ever.

you're right
i’m trying to point out that as a high profile figure, he needs to censor what comes out of his mouth & it’s also not the end of the world. You DO know what he’s trying to say and because of today’s media, it gets blown way out of proportion.

No one can
say this guy is bright.
Take the name off the back of the jersey's and reinvent football as a team sport.

OMG
Getting paid millions of dollars to play a game for a living is slavery? Someone needs to have AP pick cotton all day for no pay and see which he thinks is worse. What a spoiled whiner.

If getting paid millions to play a sport is slavery then the black people of america have nothing to complain about for what happened in the past. Seriously, this is a disgrace to even remotely compare his situation to that of those men and women who were put through the travesty of slavery.

In which Adrian Peterson makes an ass out of himself…
Just one quick example of actually slavery in the past:
…there was nothing to be heard but the rattling of chains, smacking of whips, and the groans and cries of our fellow-men. Some would not stir from the ground, when they were lashed and beat in the most horrible manner.
Source; Ottobah Cugoano’s account.
Yes, Peterson, what you are currently doing for millions of dollars is very comparable to that. Dumbass.
RIP Jim Johnson, best ever.

These guys all need to shut up
everytime someone from either side opens their mouth, pure bullshit comes out and the fans get more frustrated and pissed. They have no idea how much damage they are causing.
Cowboys suck.
And the players PR downward spiral continues...
