This was adapted from SBNation's Music City Miracles, the Titans blog, by natidawg. Credit should be given to him.
Basically, each NFL team will be given a certain number of points. Each poster can choose to "Heal" a certain team (that they like) and they will be given a point, or "Kill" a team, and a point will be taken away. You can perform two actions every 24 hrs. You can even "Double Kill" a team if you really, really don't like them for your daily two actions or "Double Heal" a team if you really, really love them (edit below). Once a team is eliminated, obviously you can't vote for them anymore.
For example:
New York Giants: 8 points
St. Louis Rams: 14 points
Udalango: Save St. Louis and Kill New york
New York Giants: 7 points
St. Louis Rams: 15 points
St. Louis 33
Detroit 36
Houston 34
Arizona 23
Cincinnati 29

Tampa Bay is Dead- kill shot by Eaglesadvocate, extra point picked up by KByars
Indy is dead- Kill shot by Eaglesadvocate, who is racking up the kills. Extra shot is up for grabs.
Minnesota is dead- Kill shot by PhiladelphiaEagles. Extra point is up for grabs.
Oakland is dead- Kill shot by Eagles advocate. Extra point up for grabs.
If you get the finishing blow you get 3 spending points every day!!!!!!
I am running this for the next few days, and everyone gets reloaded at midnight since during the night Philly time is when I have the most time. Once I post this, everyone is automatically reloaded anyway since it's so close to midnight now. If anyone wants to take over the next thread from Wednesday night on, let me know in the comments.
Also, after counting the votes in the last thread I'm calling a dealer's rule. After those first 5 died, no one has moved very much at all. Teams are just going back and forth and people are cancelling each other's votes out. Therefore, from now on you can only heal once per day. This is the hate game, and it has to end sometime. If you don't like that, let me know in the poll. If you want to do something about it, you can ask to run the thread yourself.
Lastly, no need to jam up the top with all of these, so unrec the other one and rec this. And when the new thread opens up remember to unrec this as well.

I’ve been the one healing the Bucs. That’s my grandpa’s favorite team and I don’t really care about any teams that are left, so that’s why I was healing them. Plus, the last game at the Vet was before I started watching football, so I’m nowhere near as angry as the average fan about that.
If everyone agrees that this new rule is a good idea then fine, but the strategy is supposed to be that the most hated teams lose and the most loved wins. If I’m protecting a team I care about and nobody else is killing it then that’s everyone else’s problem. Like I said in the other thread, if I triple heal them and 6 people double kill them, they go down 9 points. They’d last about four days if that happened, which is pretty quick if you ask me.

Great about your grandpa, and I can kind of understand it, especially if he brought you into football. But the fact that it was before your time, I can’t give in to. I hate the Raiders simply because 1980 and I wouldn’t get into football for a good decade. Also, your vote on such a premise (or any really) shouldn’t be enough enough to cancel out one and a half other people’s votes. Lastly, it’s a pain to keep changing it back, and since there is a quasi Bucs and Browns fan here, it could get really annoying. If people from other blogs jumped on, that would just be stupid. It was kind of annoying changing scores so many times, and as you can see this game isn’t really moving.
If you want to heal a team, by all means. But we have to start getting closer to narrowing the field down. Heal one, shoot everyone else. If your team is the “most loved” team then other people won’t take them out and they can win with just the one heal per day. I think you’re fighting an uphill battle there due to history though.

I don’t understand your argument about why my votes shouldn’t cancel out others. If three people saved the Chiefs, for example, and I voted to triple kill them, I would be cancelling out three people’s votes and you seem to think that’s okay — as long as I’m not healing them.
I’m just saying, if people really hated the Bucs they would be gone by now, and I can’t do anything to stop it. My 3 votes don’t compare to the other 20-30 people who have 2-3 votes a piece. If you don’t like me healing the Bucs then stop complaining and start killing them (and that’s not directed at you, I mean anyone who doesn’t want to see the Bucs win should kill them). But people seem to support the rules and i’m not fighting it, I’m just defending my choices. So let’s get on with the game!

I tallied every vote in the thread
I could have miscounted, but I double checked it. I didn’t count the declared kill shot where the person got the extra shots already, but the Pats and Bears I started at the top and ticked off every shot, and that’s what I cam up with. I didn’t want chubbs the get the shot either because he stated that once he got a kill shot he would take his ammo and go home, thus slowing down the game even more. But fair is fair.

That's the one
It brings up an interesting dilemma. Should you get an extra kill shot? Not only would that make your opinion twice that of anyone else, the range for killing would be extended even more and with that kind of advantage could amass a lot of shots. However, not giving you the extra shot would extend the game, and since no one is stepping up to take over the thread, I am looking like I’m stuck with it. It’s not terrible, but if that’s the case I would like to get it over with more quickly. My thought is to either allow you to chose someone to give the extra shot to, or (the one I am leaning towards) is that the next person who posts has the right to claim the extra shot (or anyone after that if the extra shot is still unclaimed) that someone at 3 would have to leave on the table if they did get the kill shot. I figure the fairest way to do it would be to give it to igglesmethis today. Any thoughts about this would be appreciated, rec the idea if you agree. First one green comment gets the rule change awarded to them. I guess reccing this comment would be a vote for:

I think that no one should get a 4th spending point, but I think they should get to decide what they want to do with it, whether that be letting the next person to reply get it, or just giving it to someone specifically.

I was under the assumption that the point was to try to get as many killshots as possible, thereby giving that person the most influence, hence the extra point for killshots. i really don’t care, the additional rules are just starting to get annoying. I get where you’re coming from though, because I certainly don’t have the time to take this over. Here would be my preferences, in order of most to least preferred
1) I get the 4th point (it sounds like people don’t support that).
2) I still get three points, but I can double save now.
3) I give it to someone else each day. (Eaglesadvocate’s idea)
Whatever people decide, I really don’t care. it’s just a game, and I’m not gonna be the douche that fights the rules. I’m just listing the ways I’d prefer it.

The game is about deciding who we hate the most
and at the end of the day, who we hate the least. I think once someone gets 3 points, they have an advantage over the 2 point peeps. I would like to encourage the 3 point people to spend thier shots so that all the 2 pointers can get in on it, rather than have an arms race between a few people (or worse one person) and other people get disinterested. If this becomes a game where someone is dominating the points I think the focus would change from the teams to the number of shots that people have, which would exclude all the 2 shot folks. But hey, if that’s what people like, then that’s what we’ll do.
I do have to veto the the double save idea. I am already looking at those numbers just hoping they go down. I’m not very interested in spreading more saves around. As for the new rules, there’s no rule yet, just a new situation. I thought I would open it up to democracy rather than pull a Goodell on everyone.

I think EA’s idea would be that you decide what to do with it once, and that sticks. Once you hand it to someone or leave it on the table and the next person gets it, they keep it. I don’t really want to get into tracking down a bunch of extra shots each day, that’s for sure.

I have noticed that there are a bunch of kill shots on the table at this point, meaning that most everyone who is still playing pretty much has 3 shots. How about we unrec this thread, start a new thread where everyone has 3 shots and you can move up to 4 shots if you get the kill. Any shots still left on the table would go to the person who go the kill in the first place. If you like that idea, unrec this and we’ll start a new one once this falls of the rec’ed post bar.
