"It's hard. One of the earlier games, they harassed my family and made my fiancee cry. It's tough. It's frustrating. That's just how they are here. He said she was with "my aunt and my little cousin."

Then why the hell are we 1-8 in our past 9 games at the linc?

The 2011 Philadelphia Eagles:
"EXPECT NOTHING AND ACCEPT EVERYTHING AND YOU WILL NEVER BE DISAPPOINTED."

Margarito laughed, smiled and even taunted Cotto after suffering several big blows. His demeanor didn't help him at the end of the seventh round, when he sat on his corner stool, his right eye shut.

Because opposing teams dont win games as much as we lose them ourselves

by RucanorX on Dec 9, 2011 7:37 AM EST up reply actions

Because the Eagles players voted their own fans as the toughest to play in front of.

Because we spend more time giving our players and coaches and front office a hard time than then opposing team.

wish people would get off casey's nuts

not his fault the brain trust thought an undersized rookie with no training camp would be the perfect fit at starting MLB

Yeah, and taunting his fiancee is really a low blow IMO. I’d really like to have a talk with those “fans” who did that. Plenty of people who deserve season tickets more than those assholes.

Also, I have to admit I’ve been waiting to see what Matthews could do in the nickel, now that he’s had some time to learn and hopefully has gotten over the ridiculous expectations that the Eagles staff placed on him. It’s also kind of telling that he took Chaney’s job there — maybe it says something about the team’s feelings on Chaney. Then again, how many changes at nickel LB have they made so far this year? It may just be yet another “Juan has no idea what to do” situation.

yea i can understand doing that to familys of opposing players, to a certain extent. ( any fan of the opposing team is fair game i think). but there’s really no reason to do this to the family of your own players. especially not this season. there’s so much blame to go around, i dont think very much of it falls on matthews.

is matthews the new nickel LB? i’m rooting for the guy now just to prove everyone was wrong to give up on him so early.

No, wrong. Opposing team, your team, doesn’t matter. If you’re harassing folks in the stands for what jersey they’re wearing, you are an asshole. Yes, even if they’re wearing Cowboys colors. Harassment is illegal and barred at all stadiums I’ve ever been to, and for good reason.

by Rujasu on Dec 9, 2011 12:12 PM EST up reply actions

Good point

Giving opposing fans a hard time and joking with them is one thing. But if you’re being an ass that is completely different. If you do that you’re just an immature idiot that can’t handle your two beers.

by slandog on Dec 9, 2011 12:43 PM EST up reply actions

Right. There’s no rational reason to justify making someone’s fiancee/wife/mother/child cry just because you don’t think that person is a good enough football player.

Agree with your comment on Juan

Sure a first year DC with new pieces will be making some changes and sizing things up with different personal, but for fuck sakes it’s what week 13 and he’s still trying to figure things out.

There has to be a time that you let the guys play and gel together. He changes things every 2 to 3 weeks. No wonder everyone is blowing assignments, because the guy next to them wasn’t there last week and they don’t know if they can trust them yet.

I’m was hoping for the best for Juan and really gave him a chance but there’s a time when you just have to scrap an idea and get someone proven.
