Not hearing much talk about the Cowboys game coming up in 3 days. That might be because we're just a Giants win away this weekend from getting eliminated from the playoff picture. But we might have helped our cause by so thoroughly beating the Jets that they might actually show this weekend against the Giants and try to get a "W". Let's hope so. If the Jets can beat the Giants then the only other thing we need to happen is for the Cowbabies to lose out and the Eagles to win their last game against the Redskins. Cowboys need to lose against the Eagles, and lose against the Giants, and we can surely beat those Lolskins, can't we ? If we can do that, then we are IN. That's all folks. Not too complicated. And the Cowgirls are known for choking late in the season, so they are definitely upto the task again this season. And trust me, the Eagles definitely don't want to go into the off-season by losing either of the games, their life will be hell if they lose, heads will roll, coaches fired, regimes changed, the philly fans are gonna be breathing fire on their asses, so I think the Eagles might have a little motivation to win a couple more games and end up at a shameful 8-8 record. Hey, if that 8-8 record is somehow good enough to get us in the playoffs, then all will be forgiven. All we need is to get in, once we're in, we control our own destiny.
But before we get too far aheady of ourselves, we got our divisional foes the Cowpoops to play this Saturday at 4:15. Unless the Eagles somehow show upto the game with their heads in between their *****, we should get this "W," no problem. Stop the run and contain their receivers. Let our receivers go crazy on them with Vick and Shady leading the ground attack. Of course the cowhats are pissed off after we beat their ***** soundly on national TV, but so what, doesn't mean that they'll win this one. But revenge will be on their minds. Hope the Birds are ready for this one. A loss in this game will be the most frustrating thing even and it will lead to the worst Christmas eve imaginable. So losing is not an option. Even if the Giants win and we're out of the playoffs, losing is not an option here. It will be meaningless, but I'd rather see them win then lose. So let's get ready for the cowdingles and give them another beating and knock them out of the playoffs if at all possible.
The Last 2 Weeks
Suprisingly, the defense hasn't played half bad in the last two games, maybe it's just a result of playing two mediocre to terrible offenses in back to back weeks, but the play of the defense has been tolerable to good over the last 2 weeks. Especially love all the turnovers we've been getting, hopefully they can continue this trend for the last 2 games of the season. Let Babin continue to Babinate all over the offensive linemen and get that sack record. That would be awesome. I don't know who came up with the 2-5-4 defense, definitely couldn't have been Castillo, but whoever thought of implementing it has to be given some credit so far. Let's see if they can cause more havoc from the alignment and the 3-4 alignment that they tried last week as well. I like the aggressive style of play on the defense. Let's hope that they continue to build on their play from the last 2 weeks and dominate against the Boys and the Skins.
Offensively, they are improving, and love the fact that they're getting the tight end involved so much in the offense. Looking for another big game from Celek since the Cowboys like to keep their Safeties deep for Desean. Vick needs to continue to get the ball out of his hands quickly and be decisive if he wants to scramble. He gets in trouble when he's not sure if he wants to scramble or if he still wants to throw the ball, that's when ends up taking those hits at the end of the play. Also, like the fact that Shady is getting what he can and not dancing around in the backfield, he learned from the Dolphins game and did a much better job of taking what the defense gave him against the Jets and moving on to the next play. If Shady can keep doing that and if they can give Dion Lewis a couple more carries, then that would be great. They gave Lewis one carry and he got about a good 7 or 8 yards, and then he didn't get another carry the whole game. I don't understand that, it's the most frustrating aspect of Marty's play-calling. I have a feeling that Lewis can be a great compliment to Shady if given the opportunity. You would think that Lewis is okay with pass-protection if they put him in there, I don't know, not sure why he couldn't get a couple more plays.
What if it's over this Saturday ?
Oh man, I don't even want to think about that. But it will be pretty aggravating. I guess the best way to approach the last 2 weeks is not to expect much and then we won't be disappointed when the inevitable finally comes to fruition. Some people say that even if somehow the team makes it into the playoffs, it won't get too far, that's a valid point, but that's not a certainty. If, and that's a big IF, they somehow sneak into the playoffs and their last 2 games are an improvement on both sides of the ball, then I don't think the team is too far. The offense still hasn't caught fire and maybe they'll really start shining if they can win the division and advance. And also the defense might be finally establishing an identity by the end of the season - a defense based on pressure and turnovers, not physical, but fast and aggressive. So who knows what will happen in the playoffs, I would hope that all Eagles fans would want a miracle and a return to the playoffs, where any team has a chance to win, like we witnessed last year. So if nothing else, I hope this Saturday is not the end of the road for our chances this year, let's extend the dream for one more week and let the chips fall where they may. Please God, don't let this be the end. You've shined on your Son Tim Tebow, don't forget to shine on your sons Michael Vick, Jason Avant, Eagladelphia, the whole BGN community and Eagles fans all over the world. May the Eagle win in this and other battles henceforth and the Giants be 1-1, preferably losing the first one, followed by a victory. If you let this pass, then I shall sacrifice many EvilBanners at your feet. Amen.
