The Linc - DeSean Jackson Is Still A Good Teammate
At long last, Eagles look fired up - NFC East Blog - ESPN
"I saw their guy pick it up and run it back," DeSean Jackson told reporters in the locker room postgame. "Michael Vick was in front of him. Instead of my quarterback making the tackle, I had to stick myself in there and make that play. Regardless of whether I was hurt or anything, I came back."

Brian Rolle played 50 snaps on Sunday. More than any other Eagles LB.
Eagles finally buying into Juan Castillo's defense - NFL - Sporting News
"Obviously we’re going to keep talking to him, because this is his first year," Asomugha said after the Eagles hammered the Jets 45-19. "We’ve gotten to a point where we know what works. He’s been calling games a lot better, he’s been growing each game."
Eagles don’t require many upsets to get in playoffs - The Washington Post
"It feels good that we are still alive," tight end Brent Celek said. "That is all you can ask for at this point. We are not where we wanted to be at the beginning of the season, but we are doing all we can do with what we have. We just have to play together as a team and go up there, fight and beat Dallas."
Parker's TD puts him in elite company
Juqua Parker wrote his name into the NFL record book Sunday when he scooped up a fumble and returned it for a TD. Combined with his 55-yard interception return for a touchdown in 2008 and a 56-yard fumble return for a TD earlier this year, made Parker only the second defensive lineman in NFL history with three career returns of 40 yards or more for defensive touchdowns.
John Smallwood: Are Eagles teasing us all or what? | Philadelphia Daily News | 12/19/2011
Despite a season that by all rights should have been over a few weeks ago, the Eagles now have more than just a Christmas Miracle chance of stealing the NFC East title.
Giants' Amukamara is 'just not ready' - NFC East Blog - ESPN
"I told him, 'you got every physical attribute to play this game and go against any receiver,'" [Deon] Grant said at a holiday food drive event in Brooklyn today. "I said, 'but right now, you're just not ready for that.' Not saying that he won't be ready, it's not taking anything from him, but me being in the game for a minute, physically he made plays through the stretch since he's been back, but I've just been seeing him struggle. I was a HUGE Prince fan coming into the draft (albeit I wanted JImmy Smith more), but even though he’s a rookie he’s looked REALLY bad. He looks completely lost. It’s possible it has to do with his injury and him not trusting it, but hasn’t looked good at all.

Margarito laughed, smiled and even taunted Cotto after suffering several big blows. His demeanor didn't help him at the end of the seventh round, when he sat on his corner stool, his right eye shut.
At least he hasn’t looked as bad as Smith. The Chargers embarrassed Smith badly on Sunday.

Before that Smith was looking good.

Smith has had a few injury issues too. I think he’s only started in like 3-4 games.

rookie CBs
tend to struggle, add his injury that kept him out all of training and most of the year and his “REALLY bad” shouldn’t be surprising.
At this time next year, he’ll look like a different player
"EFF YOU, WE'RE WINNING ANYWAY!!!!!!" (Bye, Dawk)
I said he was going to bust. In college he lined up 10+ yards off. CBs like that don’t transition to the NFL very well or at least have a very difficult rookie year.

Yeah he's been awful
But like you said, had no camp, got hurt. It’s a lost year for him. He’ll start all over next year.

Most of the CBs this year didn’t look all that great. Peterson looked horrendous earlier this year. According to PFF, by late November he was called for 10 penalties for 121 yards and was rated as one of the worst starting CBs in the NFL period.

I rather have Djax if we can retain him. He’s been a staple in our offense for the last 3 years and he is a huge fan fave
I Miss BDAWK
Andy Reid should stay one more year
Shady McCoy is Dirty
I think we end up getting him for 7-8mil a year.

after the year he has had this season, i’m not sure we even give him that much…
by RogerPodacter on Dec 20, 2011 9:21 AM EST up reply actions
Say what you will about Djax
But he’s got the most touchdown-saving tackles on this team this season, at least on the offense (how sad does that sound?). If any of y’all saw the Steelers game last night, watch Wallace’s effort after the first 2 interceptions (Rogers & Goldson).
http://www.nfl.com/gamecenter/2011121900/2011/REG15/steelers@49ers
First throw was to him and he didn’t even run after the INT. Second one he had a chance to tackle and barely touched the corner.
Not saying Wallace isn’t a better, more complete WR, but Desean plays hard for this team.
On that same note..
Did you see when the guy ran out on the field and Ben said, “Where’s James Harrison when we need him?”. I now believe that the whole Steelers roster is filled with thugs.

Yeah I saw that
I was shocked, actually. I didn’t know there was a streaker on the field, so I thought Ben just said it because he knew the cameras were on him and wanted to rile up Goodell. As it is, I don’t think what he said was that bad. Harrison famously tackled a Browns fan who ran out onto the field. – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fC3xNSiRTDc
Agreed
I’ve been frustrated with him this season for sure. But I’d like to see him stay for a reasonable price.
I will always be pulling for you #20.

Agreed
With the way he’s played this year I think they’ll let him test the waters and end up signing him at a discount from the 10 million/ yr he wants.

I'm on the fence
Before this year I would have agreed, but the fact that he let his contract situation affect his play has swayed my opinion to some degree. He definitely has decreased his market value, although I think that if the Eagles let him walk he won’t have a hard time finding work, and at a decent salary, too. While one could argue that he is not an every down #1 receiver, his big play ability won’t be ignored.
I don’t see him as the locker room cancer type and think that it may be a matter of him being a bit immature. That is something that can be overcome, so I don’t see a problem with resigning him. It really boils down to the status of the relationship between him and the front office, and whether they can come to a middle ground on the contract. My feeling is that both sides are still receptive of the idea of him being back. That doesn’t mean that it will happen, but it is possible. If they can work it out I’d be OK with him coming back.
Go Eagles!
