Draft talk

Ok seaon's over. Andy isn't going anywhere. But the one benefit of sucking is you get a pretty good pick. It's looking more and more like they will end up in the top 10. It hasn't been too often that the Eagles get a pick that high. Who should they take? I know alot of people want the best LB available, but I think they need a corner too. Asante is gone next year and DRC stinks. I'm also tired of defenses knowing we have 2 players on the field who can't tackle (at least!). The guy I like is Morris Claiborne from LSU. People are saying he'll be the best corner and a top 5 talent in the draft. He has decent size and does literally everything. Press coverage, off coverage, man, zone, you name it. He can tackle and is a beast in run support. I think the Kirkpatrick kid from Bama was ranked ahead of him in preseason because he's bigger, but he got burnt by Alshon Jeffery against South Carolina, and Claiborne has leap frogged him on boards pretty unanimously. His only con is that he plays in a defensive secondary that contains all future pros in college. I mean thats literally it. So the question is:

Should the Eagles pass on a talent like this?

If we have a top ten pick, I don’t see any linebacker being drafted that high despite the need, these are the players I think we have a shot at in the top 10

RG3

Well said. I understand the take the best player available idea when your that high in the draft, but I really really would like them to use it at least on defense.

I’d like them to go defense too, but if we could get barkley or RG3 I would do it in a heart beat, I wouldn’t pass up a franchise QB

vontaze the type of player who needs to be put in check. theres no player who can do that on the eagles roster

he lacks discipline and his play this year was bad plus he got benched for committing stupid fouls which hurt his team big time

Eagles draft

At this point I cannot imagine the Eagles passing on a game changing LB and a QB
with their 1st & 2nd. round picks. We all know the problems with our linebacking and Mike Vick will not be 6’3" any time soon.

Agreed, but the Birds will never pick a LB in the top 10

If we end up with a top 10 (and maybe within striking distance of 6 or so with some trade chips), I would most definitely pick a QB. They may never get this chance again anytime soon. You have to grab a franchise QB when you get the chance.

I’m not sure of the terms of Vick’s deal, but I think it was really only a 3 yr contract, with the rest being voidable. Keep a young guy as backup for a year or two (especially if he’s a spread guy) and move on from Vick.

DRC not that bad

the guy is a much better corner when he is actually playing his position,and I believe we have needs much bigger than CB,our Safety and most importantly LB positions are in much worse conditions than CB

None of our need positions have players with a top ten grade in them. Look for the FO to do what they do best, trade down to the middle of the first, pick up hopefully another second, and draft a LB there

i wouldnt mind drafting down

hopefully andy stops trying to outsmart the rest of the league and just really goes for what we need,i know he loves his big guys but our O line and D line have been the most consistent part of our team right now. There is some good LB talent in this draft just hope we come away with one of them and a good class to build on.

Juan Castillo switching from the offensive line coach to Defensive coordinator is soooo dumb it might just work.

Our defense will not be a top 10 defense this year.
