Bring back McNabb
Yeah, I said it. I saw someone suggest it in one of the other strings, and I think they might have been kidding, but it makes sense to me. There are two people who Philadelphia owe the last 11 years of great football to. Donovan McNabb and Andy Reid. In my opinion, they are both done. But so is the Eagles season, so I would be perfectly OK with reuniting them so that they can retire (or be cut loose) at the end of this year, but with nothing to loose, we do owe these two guys so much.
I think it's clear no amount of coaching can turn VY into a competent QB or a leader and Vick is not the man he was last year. Kafka shows some promise and he should get a chance to play before both VY and MV are gone next year, but I would LOVE to see D.McNabb back, taking a few snaps this year before he goes to the big golf course in the sky - retirement - with his many millions.
Next, year, draft and trade for pure meanness, experience and attitude. Starting with hiring a vicious, ass-kicking head coach - Like the intensity of Mike Singletary - but with a clue. Reid in no Matt Millen, but this year he got close.
For the rest of this year, let's ride it out with some semblence of dignity - if the team can find any hiding somewhere in that locker room. Check the dirty laundry bins. It can't have gone far.

GOD
NO
The coaches are to blame, the players are to blame. Sorry to say, but Andy has lost this team. 53 super talented individuals with no heart.
Like it could hurt anything now?

I'm all for it.
Might was well turn this train wreck into a spectacular train wreck. I may be in the minority at this point, but I was a McNabb defender longer than most. It was time to move him after the Cowboys playoff loss, but at least he’s a guy that I rooted for for many years. I can’t stand the sight of Vince Young.
Also, bring back Duce and Troy Vincent and any other former Eagles that want to suit up?
Tommy McDonald? Sure. Blaine Bishop? Su—no wait, not him.
That
serves no one. McNabb should suit up for the Bears and lead another playoff collapse to top off his career.

Formula for success
Motivated, talented players + system matching those talents = success
I believe a lot of motivation has to come from within the players. So what the Eagles organization can control is the player selection and the systems they are put within.
Gotta change the systems or the players, or change both in places. The bright side for the Eagles is, they’ve got the draft picks, they can dump a lot of players after this season, and they are likely to have high draft picks the way this season is tanking.
My concern is at QB, because I see (other than Eli) only the top echelon QBs winning Super Bowls the past several years. And I agree with Skip Bayless about Vick, I don’t see the consistency in his decision-making and I don’t think he can stay healthy. I don’t think he is an unstoppable talent…..teams are becoming reacquainted with him in film study, and are figuring out how to handle him, the same way they did when he started to peter out with the Falcons.
The problem is… You have to pay him. He’s making $5.05 million this season, which means that the Eagles would have to pick up the remaining $1.26 million on his contract if they claim him off waivers. Picking up a 4th QB up off of waivers in a lost season doesn’t exactly scream “fiscal responsibility.”
I think that cutting Vince Young
is an obvious part of bringing McNabb back
I think that cutting Vince Young
Is also an obvious form of therapy. Dump the bum!

What good would bringing McNabb here do? If anything start Kafka the rest of the year to see what he can do.
Go Eagles!
Why the hell not? I mean, it’s not like we are expecting to win anything at this point… just end the season and two careers (Andy’s and Donovan’s) with some class. Bring Kafka along with a real QB, not some rehabbed headcase like the VY and MV.
If Donovan knows he’s done, maybe he’ll just want to finish up without asking for too much $.

why the hell not?
…because it would cost millions.
He's a free agent
he can be signed for the league minimum
I felt like destroying something beautiful
FUCKING BETTER CHOICE THAN THE NUMBER 2 WE HAVE NOW!!!!!!
Fuck, Vince Young is so fucking painful to watch, i cannot believe this clown was actually a starter prior to coming to philly…………….He makes McNabb look like the most accurate passer in history……………..oh man vince young is painful to watch out there……………….how many more interceptions and incomplete passes do we need to see from this Drama queen before he gets demoted to 3rd string………..
just more shit piled up on this CLUSTER FUCK of a season……………

Yeah, right.
Remember how awesome Iverson was when he came back to the Sixers?
Yes. Yes Yessssssssssssssssssss
we would surely lose out if McNabb came back. And get rid of any ground hogs, worms and insects that may be infesting the Linc.
Joe Banner is Evil Banners father. Kinda like Luke and Darth Vader.
Juan Castillo switching from the offensive line coach to Defensive coordinator is soooo dumb it might just work.
Our defense will not be a top 10 defense this year.

why would you think
Vick would be gone next year?
Because he is not a superbowl caliber QB. Just like McNabb, he will never get us there and it is obvious from the way he played at the end of last year and all of this year.

He made it to the NFC CG with much worse offensive talent than he has now.
I reject your reality and substitute my own.
Then why would you want McNabb back?
Its all about the []_[]

He’d be a better mentor for Kafka. It would be a good way to end our terrible season and it would be nice to have him back for the last games of his last season as a pro. If he’d agree to it, he’d play a few downs a game and do the mentor part. He could retire with a little dignity and show the class he showed before he was traded.
