Jeremy Maclin Downgraded To Questionable, Will Travel With Team

The Eagles have announced that WR Jeremy Maclin has been downgraded from probable to questionable for Sunday's game against the Miami Dolphins. They do say however, that he will travel with the team to Miami.

Maclin has missed the previous three games with shoulder and hamstring injuries, but all signals were that he would be ready to play this weekend. However, it would appear that he's had some sort of setback. When talking about Maclin's injury over the past few weeks, Andy Reid has said that it's been the hamstring that been the main concern. Actually, Maclin was only limited in practice all week as a precaution and not to overly stress the hamstring.

But as we all know, hamstring injuries are extremely unpredictable. Guys get pick up a hamstring during a game and sometimes they're back the next series of they're out for a month. And as we're seeing with Maclin, sometimes these things can linger.

I know what you mean. Winning out by barely beating four bad teams, missing the playoffs by one game and then getting a crappy pick on top of it would be miserable.

Yep

Not only for draft pick purposes, but why risk it now? These games no longer matter.

This doesn’t bode well for the future.
How do you have a setback 3 1/2 weeks after a minor injury?
I’m most likely jumping to conclusions, but Maclin seems fragile = unreliable.
Maybe the next regime can identify players more likely to remain healthy, so that they can actually go on to the field and PRODUCE!

yea he's the new Asante Samuel (riding the questionable tag for 3 weeks with a minor injury and raking 6-7 figs in the process).

People love to hate on Desean Jackson, often throwing “injury prone” as one of the insults. But geez I wish all of our players could be as durable as he is. Desean missed like 3 games in 4 seasons. If only Vick, Maclin, Peters and Herremans could’ve stayed on the field that much.

Identify players more likely to remain healthy?
Interesting thought. But I think we should search for sure fire Hall of Famers instead. Seems more efficient.
Even if we just get one future hall of famer every round of the next 3 or 4 drafts…then we should be good.

Whoa

Hammys are tricky injuries. Look how long Andre Johnson was out. 1 month is not out of the realm. And we really don’t know how “minor” his injuries were. He has an AC sprain and a injured hamstring. Both of these inuries are pretty tough and have their own unique timelines

Maclin was a great pick, he’s just in a tough spot right now.

Haha.

Andre Johnson is about to miss his 7th game of the season with a hamstring injury (this time to the other one!). Is he too fragile for you? I realize Maclin is not Andre Johnson, no one is. My point is that hamstring injuries can happen to anyone at any time and tend to nag. It doesn’t mean he’s fragile.

Might as well bench him until we know that he is 100%. No sense rushing him back in a lost season.

A benching seems pretty harsh,

I think putting him on the IR would be less of a slap to the face…

I just meant keep him out.

Sit out. Get healthy. For next year.
