Don't Expect To See Albert Haynesworth In Philadelphia
Prior to the season, it was reported that the Redskins and Mike Shanahan were willing to trade Albert Haynesworth for anything rather than cutting him because they did not want to see him in Philadelphia where he’d re-unite with Jim Washburn. Haynesworth became one of the NFL’s best defenders while a member of Washburn’s line in Tennessee.
So the Skins sent him to New England for a 5th round pick in 2013. This week, the Pats cut him. Naturally, there has been speculation that the Eagles might be interested now that he’s a free agent. However, the Inquirer’s Jonathan Tamari reports that the Eagles will neither claim him off waivers nor sign him as a free agent.
And really, why would they? It’s been years since Albert Haynesworth was a useful player in this leauge and given how poor his been, it’s hard to believe that it’s all simply due to a lack of motivation. In fact, Bill Belichick said as much today.
"He had some physical limitations. In the end it just didn't work out."

Haynesworth became one of the NFL’s best defenders while a member of Washburn’s line in DC?
Try Tennessee. Washburn was not in DC while Fat Albert was there.
pshh...
if you report sports for a living, especially in a public forum, be ready for people to call you out when you make mistakes. its a cost of business.
I agree
Shame on Jason for making this typo.

My whole family will bear the shame for 2 generations now.

Wait...
…don’t you mean BARE the shame??? Tisk, tisk tisk…lol
Why do people always think I'm playing the Race Card???

JasonB, what will your grandkids think of you. We will erect this statue of you.

I think...
…erect is a word that should not be used in a sentence describing that statue. lol
Why do people always think I'm playing the Race Card???
Is it because I'm black???
Uh...
…This is not a mistake where he didn’t know what he was talking about, just a mistake that happens when you are writing a crap load of information. It’s similar to when you are texting and you said “the eagles didn’t have there a game. we should have continued to run the ball down their throat.” Clearly, I understand the usage of there vs. their, so let that shit ride.
Why do people always think I'm playing the Race Card???
Is it because I'm black???
HA
That is not the same thing at all. Use of “there vs. their” is a grammatical error which, like spelling in this modern day of Twitter/Facebook and illiterate youth, can be overlooked. Naming the wrong team is just wrong and thus should be corrected – that is all.
@JasonB – thanks for the correction! That’s all I was looking for.
He didn't correct it for you...
…he corrected it because that is what accountable people do…and he is accountable.
Now, I am going to assume that you consider yourself an accountable person as well? Again, assuming you do, you would agree that drawing that much attention to it was either asking for attention or, at the very least, generally unnecessary. Everyone else that read the message knew what he meant. And had your message not came off the way it did, no one would have had anything to say about it.
The reason people took exception is because you came off like a smart ass trying to tell him something that he didn’t know. Maybe that wasn’t your intent, maybe that was your intent, or maybe you are just a smart ass who couldn’t help it. Either way, it was unnecessary to state it the way you did and then back it up with the “public forum” mess. He probably writes more published articles in a week than you or I in a year…someone not trying to be a smart ass would recognize that and let it go.
Why do people always think I'm playing the Race Card???
Is it because I'm black???
Also hilarious...
..that grammatical errors “can be overlooked” but mistakenly naming a team is the death penalty in your eyes.
OFF WITH HIS HEAD!!
Why do people always think I'm playing the Race Card???
Is it because I'm black???
You can't let that shit ride
when you have a vagina.
Good god he puts up 10 posts a day and your ride him like he has an error on every one of them. Give him a break. I’d like to see what you do and see to it that you never make a mistake.
seriously?
Asking for a correction is that big of a deal? I am held accountable for my actions at work every day. And if I make a mistake, I 1) work to fix it like JasonB did and 2) apologize for it.
Slandog – I wasn’t making it person… but since you went there…. you must catch a lot of breaks at your job flipping burgers to be getting so defensive. And bringing your vagina into this? Dude that’s just childish. You should respond and tell me I’m a real “mean head” next. You know… raise the bar.
His error is not that big of a deal.
However, to call him out and ask for a correction AND an appology is what is wrong with today’s society; as if he owes you an appology. You are not entitled to anything. You are not his boss and he is not accountable to you.
So, call me the meanie head if you want and cry to momma that he had a typo but, if you think you are deserving of any kind of appology, your not.

Mr. Tony is definately the superior intelect and just a pool of knowledge. Obviously JasonB had no idea that Washburn was not in DC and stands corrected.

Why do we need a run stuffing def. tackle? Our run defense is the best in the league right? We already have a big run stuffer in Dixon right? This is one Juan more player that we need but won’t sign.

That beith sarcasmith...

Try this.
Why do we need a run stuffing def. tackle? Our run defense is the best in the league right? We already have a big run stuffer in Dixon right? This is one Juan more player that we need but won’t sign.
"You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity."
The second line is overlapping the first one. This always happens for me when people use that “sarcasm font”… does it happen for anyone else? It’s very annoying, particularly with so many “use the sarcasm font” comments in every thread. It’s okay if the post is on one line but otherwise it’s unreadable.
Not to mention...
…blantant sarcasm doesn’t need a font. Now, if the sarcasm is intended for humiliation of another BGNer, by all means use away!
Why do people always think I'm playing the Race Card???

"physical" limitations?
interesting. does that mean he was a malcontent?
I think he means that his back is done.

the one Shawn Andrews lives in?
French fries are really Belgian, sausages and bagels have the same amount of protein, two countries' names mean "turkey", and Santa Claus was invented by the Coca-Cola company. Is life weird or what?

Sign him
What’s the worst that could happen…we get even worse at stopping the run?
It's okay to be jealous of THIS guy!
do you really want to drive yourself crazy seeing effort like this?

Btw Bucs just signed him
Read this hilarious reaction from a fan….
Hey Bucs, I will slap on a pregnancy belly and roll my @#$% on the field for you this week for half of what Fat Albert is getting, and I promise I’ll eat a lot less out of the team vending machine in the locker room too, AND I’ll post at least 60% of the stats!

If washburn wants him he will be an eagle soon.
it was said that before the pats trade washburn wanted him on the team. Its worth the gamble. It could be the ‘wasburn’ effect just like babin and he may be good again.

Yep. I didn’t remember that report but just Googled it and Washburn indeed wanted him.
I don’t see what the Eagles have to lose at this point.
Sign him in the offseason
With full mini camps ect. Let Washburn try to whip him in to shape during camp. Like the Pats did, worst thing that happens is you cut him. At Best you have a great player in a scheme that works for him.

Did anyone expect this?
Outside of a few writers looking for something to write about (and not Jason)?
There was a few people clamoring about it on the site and some people I know thought we might go after him. The article just shoots down the idea before it can come up.
I'll Have a Samuel Jackson. It'll get ya drunk. Mmm-mmm b***h.
Kind of a relief to see the non-interest from the Eagles FO. Big Al was really struggling to get anything accomplished, in camp and in games. Sorta feel bad for him if he’s washed up. I guess TB will find out if Lesean25 below is correct.
