Fantasy Football Preview Week 9

Hey everyone, I apologize about last week I had no power and couldn’t rank everyone or do the write-up. Here are this week’s ranks and sleepers

This Week’s Bold Prediction: Tim Tebow rebounds from his horrendous performance by finishing as a top 7 QB this week.

This Week’s Sleeper Picks

QB: Matt Cassel: Miami is ranked 31st in points given up to opposing QBs and Cassel has showed the ability to beat up bad defenses (16 vs Min and 27 vs Indy). If your in need a bye week filler I think he has a nice day.

RB: Brandon Jacobs: Bradshaw isn’t playing this weekend and teams against the Pats have had success running the ball. Jacobs should have 80 total yards and a score making him a nice #2 RB this week.

WR: Darrius Heyward-Bey: Before the bye DHB had 4 straights weeks with over 80 yards receiving. The bye should help him and Carson’s chemistry and he should have a solid game versus the 30th ranked bronco secondary.

TE: Brent Celek: Celek has been a major focus of the eagles offense the past 2 weeks and against the bears who are worst in the NFL covering the TE his streak should continue. I think Celek gets around 60 yards with a good shot at a TD.

Need a quick bit of advice

Have two slots left open with three possible receivers. Which 2 would you start- Julio Jones, Pierre Garcon or Anquan Boldin

Jones and Boldin

Jones should be able to beat the Indy Secondary and Boldin is better than the inconsistent Garcon

ringer addai or Moreno? Also Little of Ford?

SEMPER EAGLES!!

by USMCSLB on Nov 6, 2011 12:50 AM EDT via mobile reply actions

Go with Ringer and Little. Javon Ringer has momentum in his favor and he is getting snaps over Chris Johnson. Addai and Moreno are in back fields where they’re splitting snaps with 2 other guys. And I’m assuming you’re talking about Greg Little and Jacoby Ford. You’re going to want to go with Little every time in that match-up, Little is getting the most targets on the Browns offense (he’s their #1) and Jacoby Ford is playing behind DHB, Schilens, Moore, Murphy and he is playing with Carson Palmer who looked terrible last time we saw him.

Ringer and Little.

THis depends on what you need. If you want 4-6 points go with Addai but if you want some upside take a flier on Ringer.

Little over Ford and its not close. DJack said it best so Im just going to quote him.

Jets D or Cowboys D?
Pick 5 (2Rbs, 2 WRs, 1 RB/WR): Roddy White, Fitz, Arian Foster, Blount, Beanie Wells, Michael Bush, Manningham, Greene, Battle, and Santonio Holmes.

by Kanade_Tachibana on Nov 6, 2011 1:25 AM EDT reply actions

Cowboys defense against the Seahawks for sure.

Roddy White against Indianapolis. Fitz is playing with Skelton so he is a no. Santonio Holmes is playing a very forgiving Bills secondary. Manningham isn’t a reliable fantasy option. After that you definitely want to go with Arian Foster, Michael Bush and Beanie Wells, Foster is healthy and is hot, Michael Bush is starting for a very run heavy team against a bad Broncos defense and Beanie Well is starting against the Rams defense that has given up career days like they’re nothing.

The Curse of Lombardi

Cowboys D
WRs: White and Fitz- I get DJack’s concern here but the Rams are an awful secondary (forget about last week) and Fitz should get at least 80 yards and a score.
RBs: Foster, Blount
Flex: Wells.
Couldn’t argue with Bush instead of Wells but I like Wells against the Rams a little more. Denver’s run D has not been as bad as most people think.

A few of questions

1. I got Stevie Johnson, Maclin, and AJ Green as my starting WRs. Steve is going to be on Revis Island this week. But my only people I could in his place are Devin Hester, Torrey Smith, or Jared Cook. Who gets the start?

2. Shaub or Rivers this week? I’m just about ready to leave Rivers on my bench and forget him…

3. Colston, Maclin, Bowe, Ginn Jr, Brandon Banks. Start 3. (In this league, I get a significant amount of points for kick return yards, so I try to start at least 1 KR).

I'll Have a Samuel Jackson. It'll get ya drunk. Mmm-mmm b***h.

by Snax on Nov 6, 2011 2:25 AM EDT reply actions

About #2, I’ve had the same problem all year. I finally traded Rivers, S. Holmes and J. Stewart for Rodgers. I’d stick with Schaub, the better QB this year.

by phillies0100 on Nov 6, 2011 8:32 AM EST up reply actions

1. Not high on Stevie this week but no way are the others better than him so keep him in there. (If you get return yards in this league as well then go with Hester)

2. Schaub and this isnt very close

3. Maclin, Colston and if you need a KR then Ginn Jr. but I would still stick with Bowe

Pick 3: B. Wells, C. Benson, M. Bush, D. Sproles?
Pick 2: D. Murray, E. Doucet, N. Washington.
E. Manning or T. Brady? D. Murray or J. Maclin?
Thanks! These are all different, 10 team standard scoring leagues.

Group 1: Wells, Bush, Sporles (No Benson because I think Scott looked good enough to get some carries and Benson wasnt that great anyway this year)

Group 2: Murray and Washington

No Megatron

Calvin Johnson should still be listed as the #1 WR. He’ll still probably count for 2TDs n 90 yards on the bye lol

Patriots strength on defense is stopping the run, it is the pass they can’t stop worth anything. Don’t know where you got that one dude. I would stay away from brandon jacobs.

The are awful at both but in a game where the giants only chance (a very small chance) to win

is to keep brady off the field i expect a lot of Jacobs and even in deeper league DJ Ware is a fine flex.

Getting killed this week

With McFadden and R. Mathews out at RB….. Two spots and going with Jacobs and Benson…Should I look into OgBonnaya for either of those two or just roll with Jacobs and Benson?

Keep those 2 this week but dont get rid of Oggy yet he will be good down the stretch i think

What do you guys think?

I’m trying to decide what I want to do with my last roster spot this week. Do I take a flier on Helu, LT, or DJ Ware for potential value down the road? Or do I just play it safe by handcuffing Forte with Marion Barber?

I have AP, Forte, Calvin, Jennings, Wallace, Mendenhall, Benson. So keep in mind that those RB’s I prob wouldn’t even need down the road if they were to takeover the starting spots on their respective teams.

by Smitty2K3 on Nov 6, 2011 9:45 AM EST reply actions

I would go with Helu or Ware

I think those have the biggest upside and even if Forte went down I dont think Barber would be that great.

I would play the Cowboys from a matchup standpoint.

My heart says eagles though.

Defensive player of the year for 2011 is...

Wild_Eagle!

Yes, Wild_Eagle's infamous reputation did help him get this award. But he shows that he walks the talk that he serves...with his keyboard. Wild_Eagle protects the motherland (BGN) from the evils of noobs, douche-bags, and other assholes. Although he may be crude and unnecessary, all great defenders draws the yellow flag from time to time.
