Ray Didinger and Marcus Hayes Go At It On DNL
The Eagles putrid season brings out the worst in guys like Hayes which in turn angers legends like Ray Diddy. At least we get this entertaining Diddy smackdown as a result. [video]
Eagles unfazed by coaches' sideline scuffle
They were all surprised about the Jim Washburn-Marty Mornhinweg skirmish. Not that it happened. Just that it didn’t happen sooner. "With Washburn, that thing happens pretty frequently," Eagles defensive tackle Trevor Laws said. "It’s inevitable."
Disastrous season might lead to nuking Eagles' roster | Philadelphia Daily News | 11/29/2011
I was struck by the TV clip of Jeffrey Lurie watching Sunday's game from his box, Lurie holding binoculars but not quite holding them up to his eyes, almost using them to shield his view of the field instead of enhancing it.
NFL.com news: Problems with Eagles water under the bridge for Jackson
Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeSean Jackson said Monday that he wants to return to the team after his rookie contract expires at the end of this season.
Eagles' Allen trying to move on from poor game
Nate Allen had his worst game of the season last Sunday, but says he is ready to bounce on Thursday night.

1) Ray Diddy is one of the few commentators left who knows what he’s talking about, bully for him.
2) Reid SHOULD be fired but he won’t be. Banner and Lurie will require a sacrificial lamb after this season, maybe more than one, and I think we can all agree that at the very least, Castillo will be fired. Jim Washburn has proven to be a pain in the ass, bringing his Wide 9 nonsense into town, and then challenging Marty (who I also think should be fired) to a fight. The sideline scuffle between these two puzzlewits pretty much sums up the frustration and futility of this awful season.

I dont see how Washburn has been a pain in the ass. His wide 9 has been one of the few bright spots this team has had all year. The wide 9 is meant to rush the passer and get pressure up front. On most occasions that is exactly what the front four has done this year. I personally love the wide . I’d love to see it back next year WITH some knowledgeable and experienced LB’s to support it. The pain in the ass you’re probably referring to with the wide 9 has nothing to do with Washburn. The LB’s just aren’t good enough to support the system.

this thought process shows the fundemental flaw of this team
And coaching staff. The flaw being we need a coach who will play a scheme that plays to the players on the rosters strengths!!!!!
For instance our oline is much better at run blocking than pass blocking, we have the best fb on the league and we have been playing a backup qb who has always had accuracy issues….so what do we do?? Pass the ball

I guess I meant Washburn the man
People who try too hard to cultivate an image of themselves as “intimidators” or “tough guys” just generally piss me off.

How do you know he is trying too hard?

Every other word with him is a curse, he was talking about wanting to “fuck up” someone who asked if he was the “wide 9” guy, wanting to fight Marty…tries too hard. He should do his job and shut his mouth.
And yes this is Philly, you welcome to come check us
so because he curses he is trying to hard...
Got it.

Diddy is awesome
But Hayes has a point. McCoy ended up 10 for 31, gaining most of those yards on a 22 yard run in the first half. Basically all of his other runs (minus the TD) were ineffective runs for short yardage or no gain.
Diddy’s right that you can still find ways to run, though. Young isn’t comfortable enough (or maybe not smart enough) to audible to and from the run based on the Pat’s defense, though. We wouldn’t have that problem with Vick in, and Shady would probably have more space to operate, too.
How does Hayes have a point?
The first Giants game the Eagles ran the ball down their throats the entire first half. Hayes can’t tell anyone the Redskins and the Cowboys didn’t know the Eagles were going to run, yet Shady had the best game of his career. The bottom line is you have to find some way to get the ball in the hands of your best player and Shady has always been more effective the more touches he gets. 10 carries simply isn’t enough to get Shady in a rhythm.

Put yourself in Reid’s shoes. At the end of the first half, you’re down 24-13. Your RB has 29 yards on 6 carries, and has 7 yards on 5 carries without the 22-yarder. You’re playing a team with the worst pass defense in the league, along with the 12th best run defense. This is a defense that gave up 416 yards to Chad Henne, 344 to Jason Campbell, and 306 to Mark Sanchez. They also have yet to allow a RB a 100 yard game, including Darren McFadden, Fred Jackson, Rashard Mendenhall, and Demarco Murray. Are you really surprised he abandoned the run?
I'll give you a cookie if you know what my pic is from.

May be the Patriots baits the teams
To abandon the run by overplaying it. You may get bigger plays through the air but in reality what you are doing is playing faster. This allows Brady to have more chances to score.

Also allows you more chances to catch up to Brady. Keep in mind, he already had an 11 point lead at half time. Our defense couldn’t stop them, so we definitely had some catching up to do. That meant that pounding the ball and waiting for McCoy to catch fire would’ve wasted what little time we had left.

if we lose to seattle
And get embarrassed, AR will be fired. Extra long week between games and playoff hopes( even though tiny now) will be completely gone.
At that point winning games to me becomes pointless. We need a young future franchise qb on the roster and a stud lb. Only way we get that is by getting a top 10 pick. also we need a coach who will run mccoy. The guy is special.

i second that motion

Keep in mind
Marcus Hayes is the one who said that Chase Utley is an average second baseman, poor at defense, and inferior to Wilson Valdez.
So, yeah, he’s a bright guy.
It's truly amazing
He is literally the stupidest person in the room by a large margin and he’s sighing because he thinks he’s smarter than everyone by a large margin and has to suffer their idiocy.
about desean wanting to be an eagle
sorry to rant but that article set me off about how lost he really is…
Desean. Get lost, don’t come back, ever. If you wanted to be an eagle, you’ld show up in a big moment. If you wanted to be an eagle, you’ld show up to meetings, you’ld put your heart and body on the line for the good of the team, etc. He just wants a contract and his money.
You know what so do I, but if I pack it in at work, I go home. They don’t bench me, they don’t care if I’m underpaid, they just fire me. This team sucks, and a lot of the guys are “me” guys. But desean, he is the epitome of selfishness right now. So much so that he’s delusional.
In comparison look at Vick. I know qb’s and wr’s are different, but look what he did to get his contract. Doesn’t complain, doesn’t bitch, just works hard and plays hurt. Led a team people thought was rebuilding to the playoffs. Now, this season has been atrocious, along with Vick’s play but I’d rather go 0-16 with guys who cared that much, than go undefeated with a team made up of 56 d-jax who just wanted their money.
Because as little as 600 grand is in the nfl, if I made that this year I’d be set. Not just this year, but for life. You can invest that money and never work a day again. But instead, he chooses to whine and moan cause he isn’t the “top man.” And guess what djax. You aren’t the best. Not even close. Fast, yes. Hands, no. Routes, nope. How bout a fade, nope can’t do that either. Take a page from your teammate, shut up and do your job.
And when this season is over, get out and never come back. I’d rather have Maclin any day. At least he goes over the middle.
