Fantasy Football Rankings Week 7

Hey everyone, I apologize for last week again. It was a bad week for me but I'm better this week and hopefully I can help you win your fantasy football matchup.

Anyway, enough about me here's my weekly picks.

This Week's Bold Prediction: Get ready to be "shanahanned"again. Everyone is projecting Ryan Torain to be the lead back for the redskins but Tim Hightower will have the best day of any Redskins RB.

This Week's Sleeper Picks:

QB: Colt McCoy: Colt has been very consistent this year not scoring lower than 13 in any games this year. This week he gets a horrendous Seahawk secondary and with no Peyton Hills look for the Browns to throw a ton. Colt McCoy is a nice sneaky play this week.

RB: Jackie Battle: He looked great against he colts and will be getting a number of carries being the lead back for the Chiefs. Against the 29th run defense look for Battle to have 100 and at least 1 score.

WR: Percy Harvin: Why do I keep believing? Each week I talk about him and hes yet to prove me right. Last week though I saw something between Ponder and him in the 4th quarter and in a game that the Viking will be down and need to throw Harvin could have 100 yards and maybe a score.

TE: Ed Dickson: He is getting the targets now he needs to produce. Against a Jags D that has been killed by the TEs 4 weeks already (16 to the Jets, 16 to the Panthers, 19 to the Saints and 8 to the Bengals) Dickson could have a nice game.

I'm torn

For my 3rd WR, I have a choice between Dane Sanzenbacher and Torrey Smith. Both are good matchups, but Smith has the deep threat and Sanzenbacher has the red zone targets. Electric has Sanzenbacher ranked higher, though. What do you all think?

by Bob_Q on Oct 22, 2011 12:26 PM EDT reply actions

I’d go Sanzenbacher. Smith has upside because he’s a deep threat, but Sanzenbacher is a more consistent target.

Personally I'd go Torrey Smith

He has a ton of big play ability. He caught a 50 yarder last week, and will build on that against jax this week. I usually consider my 3 WR as a risk reward position anyway, meaning that he has a much higher ceiling than sanzenbacher.

by P_Roach17 on Oct 22, 2011 12:33 PM EDT up reply actions

True

And I’ll need a big reward this week. I’m projected to lose by 20 since McCoy and Vernon Davis are on bye.

by Bob_Q on Oct 22, 2011 12:36 PM EDT up reply actions

Ouch

I feel ya. I’m in trouble this week with V Jax on Revis Island and A.J. Green on the bye. My receiving corp has been seriously depleted since I shipped off Jennings.

just wondering

who do you guys think will be the safer play this week? Murray or Battle?

Battle by far

Murray will split with Choice, and could be a complete non factor. He’s averaging at/below 3 yds per carry

by P_Roach17 on Oct 22, 2011 12:44 PM EDT up reply actions

I have the same Dilema

I’ve been drawn to Murray due to the poor run D of the Rams. I know he has to share carries but I get the feeling that Choice isn’t exactly wanted in Dallas givin the trade speculation.

In one league only Murray is available and in the other I have a choice between them both, I just hate picking up the wrong one…..

by Molemiester on Oct 22, 2011 12:56 PM EDT up reply actions

Yeah I would stand by battle tho

KC seems very committed to him, and Murray is a really unproven commodity. Despite the match up I don’t trust him

by P_Roach17 on Oct 22, 2011 1:08 PM EDT up reply actions

Battle has the job

Murray has the job for 2-4 weeks MAX go with the guy who will have the job longer.

How isnt it close

Murray had chances against an awful Defense last week had 10 carries for 3.2 yards. Choice is still getting carries. Could Murray have a good game of course but for you to say it isnt close its crazy.

Murray is going to get the lions’ share of the carries for Dallas, he is playing an awful defense, he is simply a better player than Battle is and he has a FAR better supporting cast to take the defenses focus off of him.

Not issue with any of this. But Battle getting 25 carries against a bad oakland run D is going to add up to say 110 total yards and a score. Murray did nothing last week and faced a run D even worse last week (had given up at least 18 before last week). Murray is a smaller back and wont get all the carries. Could Murray do better of course he could and he could even had a huge game but Battle is safer and will do well.

1) Murray may get more carries but Dallas isn’t high on either of them as far as I have seen. They tried to deal choice and seriously Murray has done nothing to prove that he’s any good.

2) The defense is awful but Grant and Starks (a duo comparable to Murray) went for 74 yards on 22 attempts against the same D last week. Also Murray has played a similarly weak run defense and posted 3 yards per carry (Pats)

3) Of course he has a better supporting cast but as you can see that really was no help for Grant/Starks last week.

4) Saying that Murray is a better player is entirely subjective. Battle has proved that he has the ability to perform where as Murray has not.

Is it within the realm of possibility that Murray has the better day? No doubt. The stage is set for him to be put in the ideal situation for a break out week. However Battle will undoubtedly have a good day IMO

by P_Roach17 on Oct 22, 2011 2:05 PM EDT up reply actions

Yeah I have to agree

Murray has done absolutely nothing with the opportunities he has received thus far, and battle has been more than serviceable. I understand that Murray does possess upside in being a rookie but battle is the far safer choice.

i think youre way too low on roethlisberger

hes playing the cardinals, who have a horrible secondary. same goes for mike wallace. im starting them both and expect some big combo scores. also..i have a rough week at rb with mccoy on bye and hillis dead or something. i need to start 2 and here are my choices: shonn greene, demarco murray, marshawn lynch, james starks, and montario hardesty

LeSean McCoy is the best thing to hit Philadelphia since Ben Franklin

by griffeagles on Oct 22, 2011 1:14 PM EDT up reply actions

Yeah thats a rough situation

Hardesty has looked pretty weak IMO, I’ve personally never been a fan of murray either, and Lynch is just ehhh. I would say Greene and Starks. Greene is on the rise, and starks is a pretty safe option all though neither had great match ups, so you’re in a tight spot. As for Big Ben vs Tebow, my league only gets 3 pt passing tds as opposed to 6 pt rushing tds and think Tebow will run one in. Besides i have a grudge against Ben as he’s burned me a lot this year. Pretty sure I’m going with Tebow but thanks for the input

Bye Week Panic!

Jared Cook or Devin Hester for Flex? I got Torrey Smith, Doug Baldwin and Fred Davis as my starting WR/TEs.

I also see that you have Matt Shaub over Phillip Rivers. Is that because you think Rivers is going to have another weak game? Or do you just trust a Johnsonless Shaub? I have both of them in my other league and I had Rivers starting.

I'll Have a Samuel Jackson. It'll get ya drunk. Mmm-mmm b***h.

Best 3 (PPR, 2 RB, 1 Flex)-

1) Michael Bush, Reggie Bush, Tashard Choice, Pierre Thomas, Future Hall of Famer Lance Kendricks.

2) An unknown Antonio Gates or Owen Daniels?

I didn’t separate the Daniels/Gates too well… that’s a separate issue.

Schaub will lean heavily on Daniels with Andre out

I also like Bush. Raiders will run early and often with Kyle Boller behind center. Pierre Thomas is getting seriously cut into between brees throwing 1 yd tds/ Ingram and sproles. Choice is trash and will get less carries than murray. Reggie in comparison to the other 2 will be a better play against the broncos, especially with the ppr aspect. Dallas has been pretty good against the TE and Kendricks is still unproven. And Gates has been a nightmare. I would steer clear of him for now

by P_Roach17 on Oct 22, 2011 2:12 PM EDT up reply actions

I'm with you on Gates, at least until he proves himself

So Michael Bush, Reggie Bush and who else? Choice, Pierre Thomas, Lance? I can also pick up Thomas Jones, but I picked up Choice over Jones for just this week…

You’re going to get a much bigger work load out of S Jax. Feeley is starting, and they want to keep Dallas’ offense off the field so they will likely lean heavily on the run. As for the ppr aspect don’t forget Jackson catches his fair share of passes just as sproles does
