Guys, I know you don't want to hear this right now but there's still a lot of football left. Yes, today was pathetic and I feel as angry as anyone. Do we have issues? Of course we do, we look like last year's Cowboys
(team with a lot of talent/hype only to do horrid). BUT, there is still hope. Just look at these points:
THE DIVISION IS STILL UP FOR GRABS: The Cowboys also had a horrible second half, blowing a large lead to the Lions
. They're currently sitting at 2-2. The Giants
are having trouble with the Cardinals
(right now), and this team is too banged up to win 10+ games this year. That leaves us with the 3-1 Redskins
. Look, I am not yet sold on this team. Do I think they have a good, top ten NFL defense along with a pretty solid run game? Yes, but they always seem to get off to a hot start. Look at who this team has beat, the Giants, Cardinals and Rams
. The only team they beat rather easily was the lowly Rams, who are arguably the worst team in the NFL.
THIS TEAM HAS STARTED OFF POORLY BEFORE: Look at the 2003 Eagles
. We started off 2-3 and went on to win 9 in a row. We have a huge game against Buffalo, but they too are real beatable. They just lost to the Bengals
. THE BENGALS.
VICK IS LOOKING MUCH MORE COMFORTABLE: Today he looked poised in the pocket, and he only made 1 mistake (early int). He was able to move the team down the field. I know we must work on our red zone issues, but at least our qb looks healthy and poised. He was also able to extend numerous plays while rushing for over 70 yds.
I know, our defense is doing bad. Nnamdi does not look like the prized free agent we thought he was, but it's still real early in the season. The lockout has made it tough for this team to gel, but the NFL is all about teams getting hot at the right time during the season. We need this win at Buffalo, and I have faith this team will be able to pull through. EVERYONE (especially the coaches) are feeling the heat on their back, and this has to motivate them to make the right changes. There is no doubt a lot of people's jobs are going to be at stake, let's hope they can perform well in order to save this team and themselves.
Have faith guys, as tough as it sounds supporting our team will only have a positive effect on them.
