Jerome Harrison For Ronnie Brown Trade Voided
ESPN's Adam Schefter is reporting that the the trade that sent Ronnie Brown to the Lions for Jerome Harrison and a 7th round pick has been voided. Reportedly Harrison had "health issues."
So that means Ronnie Brown returns to the Eagles and Jerome Harrison goes back to the Lions. So... yeah. It was a minor trade to begin with so reversing it doesn't change a whole lot. Although I'm sure Brown was probably excited to go somewhere he was likely to get a shot to play a little more.

I’ve seen this image before, and I always notice something new whenever it pops up.
Check out the cats faces. Classic.
I had the same expression all week we were 1-4. Hope we never have 20% wins again.
I would like to thank my hands for being so great, for allowing me to type this post.

broderick bunkley is laughing somewhere.
When I die, I want the Philadelphia Eagles to be the pallbearers at my funeral. So they can let me down, one last time.
since you offered a sheldon cooper response to his joke, i'll counter with a sheldon cooper response to you...
he was hinting at the fact that, although he may have a job now… he won’t for long. his joke blended sarcasm and anticipation. i found it humorous.

Awkward
My exact thought too PE.
I hope it’s not so awkward that we can’t get some use out of Brown. They don’t need to just outright cut him. :)
I still think the guy has potential. I like him or Harrison about the same

Odd: he hasn’t been listed on a single one of the Lions injury reports that I’ve seen, and I checked each week.
by PhiladelphiaEagles on Oct 19, 2011 7:38 PM EDT up reply actions
Yeah it would have to be something deep-seated
if it was just a football related injury the trade would go through.
Dude must have diabetes or a heart condition or osmething that significantly affects his future value.
Also, I always thought it was deep-seeded but dictionaries seem to disagree

One thing I did notice is that he hasn’t gotten any touches since Week 3.

He had 15 touches in the first 3 weeks, and none since. Once again, never listed once on their injury reports.

That's weird...
…because deep-seeded seems to make more sense.
Why do people always think I'm playing the Race Card???
Is it because I'm black???
Totally
I don’t get it, but that’s why I remember it, because it doesn’t make sense.
I also hate that “till” is considered a word even though it’s clearly the short form of until, which should be ’til

Although it’s not realistic, I was about to say the same thing.
by PhiladelphiaEagles on Oct 19, 2011 7:27 PM EDT up reply actions
Might be realistic.
If the Lions knew about it, in effect they kept the Eagles from making a trade with another team.
The Eagles would have to press the case with the league.

by BleedinGreen116 on Oct 19, 2011 7:36 PM EDT reply actions
I wouldn't be surprised either
but only if Ronnie makes it awkward, and the time off and the fact Ronnie is a good guy might negate that.
Otherwise you put your nose down and go back to work. Even if Ronnie is just going for self, he has every reason to want to maximize his usefulness and showcase his skills to another team.
Maybe if he scores the winning TD in a playoff games or something we can all forget the SF game ever happened.
Definitely a chance to leave a better legacy here.

BREAKING:
Rumor is Harrison had a rare elbow condition that made the halfback option pass impossible. (Ok, I’ll let it go now.)

If you could only cut one of the following players, who would you cut:
Jarrad Page
Ronnie Brown
Todd Herremans (included this option for JIBTA)
by PhiladelphiaEagles on Oct 19, 2011 7:46 PM EDT reply actions
I'd cut Page two times before I cut Brown
Brown isn’t totally useless. Trade = just Howie being Howie I guess. And the fact that Dion looks good, probably just trying to get a pick out of a lateral move.

If you think Eagles are bummed about the Ronnie Brown trade being voided, they aren’t alone. Source says Brown is “supremely disappointed.”

This should make for an awkward final half to the season for Ronnie and Eagles. Clearly, things haven’t worked out there. For both sides.
Of course he is bummed
He’s gone from potential starter to 4th QB in 24 hours. I would be pissed too.
the dream team is still alive
i think Vince Young secretly voided the trade. didn’t wanna see the band broken up.

When it comes to Ronnie Brown, I can only channel Mac. “I don’t know how to express myself except through anger and personal attack!”
The logical part of my brain says that Ronnie is a great backup to have and seems like a good guy. The rest of me says I hope he breaks an ankle. I realize that is a terrible thing to say but that is literally one of the most frustrating plays I have ever seen.
LMFAO!
that awkward moment when a team basically tells you your’re worthless…then they find out they cant get rid ouf you..

One of the odder minor sagas the Eagles have had
- Trade for a guy one season
- Use him very sparingly except in garbage time/games that don’t matter
- Show no real interest in resigning him in the offseason
- Trade again for him again the followign season to replace your backup RB you signed to replace him
- Only the traded is voided to the player’s health status
Strange
Could also be described as...
- Need a big back
- Sign a big back in the off-season
- Decide right before the trade deadline that you don’t really like big backs
- Trade for Jerome Harrison
- Repeat

Dion Lewis
Our FO must really like Dion Lewis. If the Brown/Harrison trade was complete I believe Lewis would have been the number 2 back for a couple weeks maybe the rest of the season. Watching Dion Lewis film is amazing he’s good at every aspect of the running back position. He reminds me of Maurice Jones Drew/Michael Turmer. I believe his upside can be better than Darren Sproles. Now that both of our running backs that we have drafted from Pitt have been successful might as well try for a 3rd one. Ray Graham anyone?
