I was ready to throw in the towel......

....Then I calmed down. Yes the Eagles are 1-4. Yes, the defense is giving up points and yards like the school slut on prom night. And yes, offensive line looks like a homesless man's shoe. But, through every game the one difference in every loss has been TURNOVERS. The Eagles luck has to change at some point...why not this week against the Skins? Is Castillo a horrible DC.. HELL YES, but, if the players start tackling like their jobs depend on it half the missed tackles will be made. This team has been in every game up until the last possesion only to give it away with stupidity, blunders, and horrible play calls. It can be turned around. will the Eagles go 11-0 I seriously doubt it. 10-1 I don't know. 9-2 possibly. 8-3 very realistic. Looking at the Eagles remaining schedule there is only one game that stands out as scary and it comes right after the bye. After that, only the Redskins and Giants are above .500. It can happen even with what we have now. I know I seem to be very optimistic however, if you look at the games outside of wins and losses you see that the other team is NOT beating the Eagles they are beating themselves. 4th quarter meltdowns on offense 3 of the 4 losses. Not great plays by the other team simply bad execution on the part of the Eagles. Look at the Lions...3 of their 5 wins have come from THE OTHER TEAM screwing up in the second half. Falcons, 49ers, Giants, all owe Marty and Andy at least a box of thank you chocolates for completely getting away from what worked in favor of what might have made them look smart IF it worked. This team is giving up TOO MANY LUCKY BIG PLAYS! just look at the Giants and Falcons games for reference. In 3 of the 5 games we have had the better QB numbers wise. In 2 of the 5 games McCoy has been the best back of the game. In all 5 one of the Eagles WR has had the better #'s yet the team stands at 1-4...why? TURNOVERS. As I look at game stats I get convinced more and more that this team is going to turn it around. That the offense is going to start hitting the big plays and the defense is going to start limiting them for the opposition. 11-0 maybe not. 10-1 maybe so. 9-2 quite possible. 8-3 definitely. The Giants still have games against the Saints, Pats, Packers, Bills and 49ers all losses in my veiw for that team. which at last count gives them a 9-7 record even if they win the rest of the games on their schedule (which we know is not going to happen). The Redskins still have games against Jets, 49ers, Pats, and Bills again all losses. Couple that with 2 games to play the Eagles. And that makes the last game of the season a must win for the Eagles and the Division win. WE CAN DO THIS!
