Who Was The Worst Player On The Field Yesterday?
We've been trying to do these gameball posts every Monday this season, but frankly I'm not liking the idea of praising people after each successive soul crushing loss. So like a desperate political campaign, we're going negative!
Cast your vote for the worst Eagle from Sunday's game. Here are the candidates.
Jason Avant - Hadn't lost a fumble since 2006 and lost two in truly embarrassing fashion on Sunday getting the ball taken right out of his hands. The last one was particularly damming for the Eagles hopes at a win.
Jarrad Page - Missed no less than four tackles in the game and generally just continued his terrible play that we've seen all season.
Michael Vick - In the end, he was the victim of some hard luck with the picks and he did do some great things, but he does have to take at least some of the blame for those four picks. The Avant one wasn't his fault at all, but he does take levels of blame for the others.
Juqua Parker - The whole freaking stadium knew the Bills were just trying to draw them offsides and he jumped. He jumped!

Every time I look at this site today, I’m hoping to see the “Eagles cut Jarrad Page” headline. It’s a sad commentary on the state of affairs that cutting one of our starting safeties is the best thing I can think of to restore some glimmer of hope.

This.
If he is still on the roster next week, every coach needs to get hit in the head.
Page is missing tackles yes but you know what the fact that the ball carrier is consistently getting to the level forcing Page to tackle constantly is the problem at least he’s around the ball. This whole team has trouble tackling I’m going with Parker he jumps on s play they knew was coming.

In the NFL...
Safeties are extremely important. The safety (especially the STONG safety) has to diagnose run and then fill the gap “inside out”. Even if he doesn’t make a tackle, he has to be in position within 3-4 yards of the LOS to meet the RB and “flush” the runner in one direction so that the pursuit can catch him. The best safeties in the NFL regularly fly up and meet runners at the line of scrimmage.
Jarrad Page is not meeting runners until 7 or 8 yards downfield; he’s “catching” them as they run past him; he’s not even slowing runners down or forcing them horizontal. They’re tearing vertically right down the middle of the field so the pursuit has no chance. And of course Page never makes the tackle at the point of attack.
I am not an Eagles optimist, but you will see a BIG difference next week in run defense vs. the Redskins with Kurt Coleman at SS. Whether that will be enough to win, I cannot say.
Actually the majority of Page's missed tackles are coming within 5 yards of the Line of Scrimmage.

I went with Parker
Blaming Page at this point is like being mad at a dog for barking. It’s a dog, dog’s bark. Page is a bad player, bad player’s make bad plays.
Parker’s mistake was so egregious that it is absolutely unforgivable, and the fact that he is a 11 year vet just exponentially compounds the egregiousness of it.
hence blame Juan
for continually putting him in, knowingly as a bad player. Juan wins this award by this theory, worst player of the game – Coaching.
Why the hell did we run a play with 8 seconds before the half? Why didn’t the coaches say “whatever you do, don’t jump on the last play of the game” Why are the coaches putting in players like Page when they obviously blow? Coaches are the worst players of the game.

Avant made the biggest mistakes but was not the worst player. You can argue he was the best player for the Eagles. The worst player was none other than Jarrad Page.
Avant was clutch yesterday. If it wasn’t for him, we would have been in deep shit offensively. He made 2 mistakes, other than that. He had a monster game.

Even if they cut Page entirely, we’re still full at that position with Colt Anderson. I think we would probably cut Page and activate Graham.
Page is leading the team in all tackles categories so it’s a little questionable to cut him out right. You have to have someone to step up and make those tackles otherwise the shit really hits the fan.
Doesn’t matter at this point. Cut his ass. Someone else will step up. Am I the only one who noticed when we went away from the wide 9 we started kicking their ass?
Oh god you are preaching to the choir there, don’t get me started, LOL. It happened last week too. We held the 49ers to 3 points last week after we narrowed up to stop the run. Then with the big lead in the 3rd quarter we spread out again and started going for sacks/QB hits and got burned big time.
Washburn needs to implement our system from last year or GTFO. Same for Mudd… need to start Jackson and stop fucking around. Peyton is not calling our offense, it needs to be simplified for Vick. Put big bodies in, stop the majority of the shit coming at Vick in the pocket and prosper. No more of this fancy “Kelce is mobile” bull shit. We don’t need him to be mobile.. just fucking take up space and don’t end up on your ass at the goal line!
That wasn’t the case. They had much tighter gaps all through this game than in previous weeks and the same issues were present.
Follow Bleeding Green Nation on Twitter & Facebook. Did you get your copy of the 2011 Eagles Annual yet?
Well at least the Eagles recognized that the Wide Nine isn’t working… I’m not sure how you admit that it was changed/fixed but yet say it’s not a problem all in the same sentence. Nobody ever said the Wide Nine was the only problem… in fact, I think it created a lot of the other problems that we have now.
But removing the Wide Nine and going back to basics is the first step. Now DT/DE’s need to stop staring down the QB and get a hand on the RB before it’s at Asante’s level. Babin needs to make about twice as many tackles… look at all the run plays and just circle where Babin is on the field.. you’ll see a pattern. Trent Cole doesn’t allow that shit to happen… that’s why Cole is a probowl DE and Babin was cut. Washburn brought him back and brought back all his problems with it.
We held the Bills to 4.08 yards per carry if my math is correct. Our average over 5 games is 5.0 so that’s an improvement. If the CB/safeties could start trusting the DE/DT/LB positions to tackle then you’d see an improvement on the other areas of the game. Asante with 15 tackles and Page with 25 is why the Rush YPC was 5+ before the Bills game.
There are a few plays last week where Nnamdi ran about 30 yds from right side of the field to left side to make a tackle on a run play… that’s a lot to ask of a CB when you have 3 LB’s in the middle of the field completely oblivious. So nobody is saying that the Wide Nine is the ONLY problem. But REMOVING the Wide Nine allows the DE/DT to slow down/reroute the running plays which gives the LB/secondary players more time to get into position.
And the Wide Nine is still being used.. it wasn’t completely gone. We were spread out very wide on the QB sneak that went for 9 yards… that’s just a joke of a scheme right there.
No, they aren’t recognizing that its not working because it IS working. That isn’t the problem.
They didn’t change the Wide 9 the whole game. What they did change is that players started to maintain their gaps, the blitzed more, and they played more man.
Eagles: 1-4, I still have hope!
Flyers: Good start
Phillies: Sigh
We’re obviously watching different games. Even Jason said, “They had much tighter gaps all through this game than in previous weeks”. You all can keep arguing the same points… but nothing adds up. It’s a horrible, horrible defensive scheme for the Eagles and almost all other teams out there.
"Tighter gaps"
Meaning they moved the DT’s out a bit more and walked the LB’s up…

I'm not wrong, you are.
Look at the close splits that the Bills use. They’re splits are about 1 foot apart (in simple terms the LG’s right foot is about 1 foot from the left foot of the center etc).
This naturally draws in the Eagles DE’s because the wide 9 is from the 9 technique which is outside of the TE/OT, not 9 yards away from the ball.

Look, I see how the LBers are closing the gaps and starting off on the line more.. that’s good. Maybe by the end of the season this will all be worked out. I envisioned Nnamdi replacing Dmitri in the secondary and this Eagles defense continuing the tradition of how we play defense. I don’t like the changes… they don’t fit our players… and Reid/Juan/Washburn won’t be here next year at this rate so all the points are mute.
The Wide Nine was a horrible, horrible decision for our personnel and each game we get less and less pressure on the QB as we move DE’s closer and have them focus on run stoppage. The lack of sacks are there, the stats are there… I’m really not sure what your argument is based on.
What?
Washburn will be here next year, unless the DL just completely tanks that man will stay and we’ll get a guy who’s smart enough to use the wide 9 to their advantage..
Also we didn’t move our DE’s in, Buffalo has smaller splits along the OL to make holes smaller for DT’s because they’re suspect as hell up the middle… That and Fitzpatrick’s quick release are what lead to the lack of sacks.

Not to mention...
That and Fitzpatrick’s quick release are what lead to the lack of sacks.
Not to mention other teams’ getting some film on how we line up and calling delayed draws and screen passes to neutralize it. In other words, other teams are doing to Washburn exactly what Howard Mudd learned to do to him. The only problem is we aren’t tackling behind it.
You are blaming the transmission of your car as the reason for not being able to drive it anywhere and discounting the four flat tires.

Jarrad Page is one of the worst Eagles of recent memory. Just an abomination of a player. In fact, when I think of terrible Eagles that had to play a prominent role in the last decade… I’m really having a hard time thinking of any. Pinkston? A least he made a few plays here and there. Dimitri Patterson? Not even as bad as Page. OH! GOT ONE! MIKE MCMAHON. Congratulations, Jarrad Page. You’re not as bad as Mike McMahon.
On a side note, I thought Vick played really well, actually.
I really don’t see how they don’t cut him. I just don’t understand the point of even having him here anymore. Not only is he terrible, but he’s blocking young players like Coleman and Jarrett from getting needed playing time.

Not a single redeeming quality about his game. Slow, awful awareness, can’t tackle. At least Jarrett can tackle, or so I’ve been told. How can it get worse?

That’s what I’m saying. Just stick Jarrett in there and let him learn on the field. Nate Allen saved a lot of long runs yesterday.
Did you notice late in the 4th quarter they went away from the wide 9 and the defense started kicking ass? That was the Eagles D that I was used to seeing.
I think the real change that caused us to kick theyre ass in the 4th was the fact that we started playing man to man.

- Obvious runs we had the DT’s on the OG’s (either shading or tight on them).

- Obvious runs we walked the SS up because Nate was going all studly for us.

I have never seen
a player take such bad angles when trying to get into position to make tackles.
Exactly. On the Bills’ first TD, he came into the backfield completely unblocked and just overshot the hand-off. I’m whole-heartedly on the “Blame Juan” bandwagon, but you can’t design things any better than to have your safety come flying in unblocked. Page is like a less-aware, less-talented version of Ernie Sims.
And the thing that gets me most of all is that we already knew this about Jarrad Page. DeSean’s long TD in the KC game in ’09 (punctuated by DeSean flipping into the end zone) was the product of Jarrad Page taking a terrible angle and turning a 20-yard gain into an 80-yard TD. We went out at picked up that guy and made him our starting strong safety. Brilliant.

Nah
Gocong shouldn’t even be mentioned in the top 10 in this category. He had a couple decent seasons. Wasn’t great, but he did some nice things.
Some other recent names that come to mind:
Macho Harris (h/t cin7)
Ernie Sims
Jerome McDougle (probably unfairly due to injuries)
Dimitri Patterson (h/t JimmyK)
Quintin Demps
But Jarrad Page easily takes the cake.
Addition
Macho was sort of shoved in there as a rookie and wasn’t that terrible.

Ernie was pretty bad. But he was able to keep his job all season and showed glimpses at times.
Sims was a shark in the water. Page is a Baby Ruth in the pool.

As a Bills fan....
…having attended the game and then re-watching it at home, I think Asante Samuel and the Center (Nesce?) should be added to the poll.
Samuel doesn’t look like he wants to make tackles.
Nesce was brutal in the middle of that O-Line.
by PineWoodsBillsFan on Oct 10, 2011 3:43 PM EDT reply actions
Kelce, lol. Mudd and Washburn are both on my shitlist.. I think they should be gone before Reid. Both position coaches have made that part of our team worse than it was last year. DE/DT position is making so few tackles it’s a joke. And the OL could be a ton better with Peters/Mathis/Jackson/Watkins/Herremans… look at that size!
As for Asante, he is 3rd on our team for tackles. Then people wonder why he’s not making interceptions or jumping routes. It’s hard to jump routes when every other play is a run that goes right through our DLine untouched.
Its Kelce
and Samuel def had an "off"game, but hands down I honestly thought Page was playing for you guys.
Men judge generally more by the eye than by the hand, for everyone can see and few can feel. Every one sees what you appear to be, few really know what you are-Il Principe
I would go to battle any time with these guys-MV7
If there's a Nesce jersey around
give it to Juqua. That way, he may be able to avoid being killed the next time he plays at home.
Kelce is the name you’re looking for. Apparently he didn’t have a great game yesterday according to @PFF_John.
[Kelce did not have a good game]: (-4.4). Allowed 2 hits (one an INT) and a pressure. -1.8 in run game.

He hasn’t had a good game yet and he’s undersized. Mudd is famous from his stint at Indy where he benefited from Peyton calling out pass protection as if he was an O-coord. Washburn was in Tennessee where you have probowl MLBs making 10+ tackles a game. Eagles imported both Mudd and Washburn but we don’t have Peyton or Tulloch… see the result? It really wasn’t hard to predict.. many people did before the season even started.
Another example is Bobby April who benefited from Devin Hester… look at our Kickoff returns to the 15 yd line… fucking pathetic.
most of the ones I saw Dion take out were to the 20-21 yard line. Most of those were froma few yards deep in the endzone. Take away the new rule and most kicks would be pretty good…
We're ranked 30th in Kickoff Return Average and 29th in Longest Return
All the teams are playing under the same rules… no excuses.
Yup, Dion clearly isn’t a kick returner, which I’m sure came as a complete shock to everyone…

Jamal Jackson?
Is Jamal Jackson still on this team?
He’s healthy too. Mudd is retarded, he thinks Peyton is still calling out his pass protection for him at the line.
Jackson has been a solid player for this team for years. IDK why they sticking with an undersized center that is getting pushed around around every week.
The smaller guys aren't necessarily the problem, although I'd prefer bigger dudes on the O line
Shanny ran an ultra-productive offense for years using the smallest O line in the league…they could run it and pass it. Something in the way our offense meshes with Mudd’s system is creating problems

it looked like Kelce took a guy that was already being blocked and let someone go right through at vick untouched
He absolutely did
and it wasn’t the only time yesterday where he doubled up on a guy being blocked only to have someone else come at Vick completely free.
That INT was on a screen where they literally jammed and released, not on Kelce.

100% agree on Asante
It’s Asante. If it were anyone else, he would have been benched and would lose his starting job. Page wins, but at least he got to the ball-carrier and was trying to tackle. Asante was always behind his guy and then wouldn’t even try to catch-up (he’s still got speed when he wants to use it). He’s a big baby and probably the main reason we don’t play man coverage more. If you watch the TD’s from the 49ers game, you see Asante jogging in after every one (except when he was on someone’s back). He did the same thing yesterday. He’s the Ricky Watters of Defense.
Me: Hey Revis, what do you think of Asante?
Revis: Slouch…Soft. I’m the one with the “big play makin’ ability.”
Trade him. For picks, or some LBs.
by Rob Crawford on Oct 10, 2011 4:21 PM EDT up reply actions
Asante is 3rd on the team in tackles… I’ve got about 10 better names of people who are slouching in the effort department if you want to hear them?
Well, my point isn’t really stats. Page had 14 missed tackles (and he stinks), but it’s misleading because the ballcarrier shouldn’t have gotten to page that many times.
Anyway, I respect your point and Asante’s tackles. But you can’t seriously tell me Asante was trying his best these past 2 games. I’m not saying others are playing better, but takes plays off. I know he jumps routes, but it’s like he doesn’t try to recover.
The guy has been on the team and is a vet pro-bowler. If he’s not a captain, he ought to be. He’s never liked to wrap up, he takes plays off, and he’s the epitome of a diva who takes plays off.
by Rob Crawford on Oct 10, 2011 4:27 PM EDT up reply actions
Asante’s my favorite player so I’m biased. I know he’s probably getting traded after this season anyway because of his salary/age so it sucks to hear it now, lol.
But Juan is not using Asante correctly right now.. just like Nnamdi isn’t in press coverage 100% of the time like he should be.
When we got Nnamdi I always assumed you’d have Nnamdi in press on the right side 1 on 1 and Asante on the left side with safety help. That seems like a no brainer to me.
I have a question regarding if thats even possible
lets say Nnamdi is in press an on the right, with Asante in zone ( if that’s even what you’re suggesting). If both wideouts do slant routes, Nnamdi would follow his man while Asante would let his go and stay on his side of the field, right? My question is that if that happened, wouldn’t Nnamdi/Asante both be on one side of the field on one WR, while the other is wide open where Nnamdi started?
Asante would play man too, just not press. The whole idea is to let them both do what they do best. Asante would play man but give him free-reign to jump routes because he’ll have safety help behind him. Than stack the box and dare opponents to throw the ball.
I think the reason so many people are frustrated to Juan is that he seems be implementing a scheme and hoping the players fit it rather than tailor a scheme to the players and their talents.
No one will fault him if he leaves Nnamdi 1-on-1 on the outside almost the entire game to add an extra defender inside the box.. That’s the performance level one would expect from Nnamdi.
Kelce, yes thanks. On the Nick Barnett pick for six in the 2nd quarter, Kelce missed his assignment allowing Bills LB Sheppard to rush through middle right into Vick’s grill, Vick tried to get the ball away and threw it right to Barnett.

Vick and Avant - Nowhere near Page's level of suckitude
They both made some great plays and some bad ones. Again, the final pick was as much Vick’s fault as it was Avant’s. If you saw the angle from behind the offense, Avant was stretched out and still it barely hit his finger tips…as he is being hit. It would have been an incredible grab if he caught it. Yet, it would have not been an incredible throw for a QB to hit an open receiver in the chest on a 3 yard out.
Also, we are giving Vick a bit too much credit by calling his INT’s “unlucky.” The first one was a tipped ball. It was tipped because Vick tried to throw it past a D lineman’s head. That is not so unlucky. That is a mistake. The final pick was not a great throw. From 3 yards away, he should be able to hit Avant in the numbers. Now, if it bounces off Avant’s chest, then that becomes a flukey INT.
At the same time, there is no comeback at all if it was not for Vick. The game ends in a blowout. The same could be true of Avant. So it is hard to put either one of them in this category. In the case of Page and Parker, they never made any good plays to help the team so they are deserving of being on this list.
Because the announcers didn’t call him out. JP’s name got shit on by basically every announcer from Boomer to Billick… as he deserved. But JP mistake is fixable… Page seems like he’s permasuck.
Oh trust me. I’ve never screamed louder after that dumb offsides penalty by JP. But I can at least realize the bigger picture. And that is that Page was just atrocious all game long. JP just made one bad decision (granted one of the worst single decisions I’ve seen in a long time)
I was at that game, so I had no idea what even happened. At the game you don’t see everything, so you sit there for a few mins more confused than anything. I’m sure if I saw the Ronnie Brown play on TV, I would’ve been going nuts.
But you have a good point, that was probably a dumber (and more costly) decision than JP’s offsides.
vick was due a bad game
and the eagles can’t win even when he plays well. so this award goes to someone else.

Vick wasn't even that bad
I really only give one of those INT’s to him. Maybe 2. But I didn’t think he was all that bad.
The only one that was really his fault, at least to me,
was the pick-6. That was a very errant throw, but you have to consider he still had a defender charging at him untouched. That was the only one that I consider fair to even call his fault. The 1st was bad luck, 2nd he was not only under pressure but he was being hit hard as he threw it, the 3rd I covered already and the 4th, avant could have had that ball.
Okay, reality check. The reason Vick comes under pressure as much as he does has much less to do with his offensive line (which honestly is not all that bad) as it does his habit of holding on to the ball too long in the pocket — over a full second longer than the NFL average, last I looked, and I doubt yesterday’s game lowered that number.
When a QB hangs on to the ball that long, he had BETTER be able to make smart decisions under extreme pressure a split-second before being pancaked. Kurt Warner could famously do it. Jeff Garcia could do it. Ben Roethlisberger can do it. To be honest, even Donovan in his prime could do it a little better (but ony a little) than Vick, and that’s really something to be concerned about.
I think Eagles’ fans need to stop giving Vick a free pass because the O-line is a work in progress. Just because a driver totals his car every other month doesn’t mean it’s the automakers’ fault.
vick is the only reason the eagles have one win
he may have had some bad plays yesterday but….
HE IS NOT THE PROBLEM!

3. Avant- played good but the fumble is inexcusable, and he could have had that pass that turned into an interception
and 4, Vick who wasn’t even close to as bad as the others. I actually thought Vick played really good. You could easily argue that 3 of his 4 picks, if not all of them, were not his fault. He looked good running the ball and alot of his passes were good.
Remember when we all laughed at KC Joyner...
For calling Vick lucky last year? And him saying that he expects Vick to return to the mean this year? Seem prophetic now.

he played threw pain the entire game. Take away the picks that weren’t on him and he looked good. I just don’t understand that you think he has returned to the mean. Obviously he isn’t throwing 4 TDs a game but you can’t expect him to have kept up that pace. Maybe I’m missing something but he’s still a great quarterback
Joyner was saying return to the mean luck wise
Last year Vick had a lot of balls dropped by DBs and when balls were tipped they allways seemed to fall harmlessly to the turf. This year the DBs are holding on to the ball and when the ball is tipped someone is waiting to snach it up.
I'm not drunk I'm just drinking.

I get it,
but yesterday was about unlucky as you can get. A tipped ball INT, the 2nd one vick got rocked and the defender turned around with barely nay time to react and the ball fell right in his hands, and the last one should have been caught by his WR. Vick may have gotten somewhat lucky last year and that may not keep up, but yesterday wasn’t “the mean” in terms of luck. It was on the opposite end of the spectrum
don't bother answering this crap
this kc joyner stuff is part of the anti vick spiel. it ignores all that vick accomplishes and recreates history only from a what if that hadn’t been dropped by the defender ignoring there is a flip side what if that hadn’t been dropped by the receiver. like" vick can’t read blitzes" that took hold after torching the giants for three fourth quarter touchdowns.
the guy is the most exciting player on the field. maybe if his receivers would stop handing the ball to defenders his ints would be less? no?

Was he serious or was he just comparing him to Page? LOL
I actually thought Allen did play good
had some nice tackles. Two that come to mind are when he was all over the screen and planted the guy as he caught it, and the one where he came all the way up to midfield during the play to follow the tight end (I think) and make the tackle to force a fourth down.
Dude, did you even watch the game?
If you can’t see that Nate Allen had a fucking FANTASTIC game on Sunday then you have issues. Easily the best player on our Defense that game.

at 1 point we only needed a corner. we got nnamdi and dom roger-cro. so how the f*&% did we get worse on D. And we need to obviously pay desean because when he gets going it seems like the whole team plays better.
I guess losing Bradley hurts more than we thought
it would at the time. Also, teams are obviously attacking our LB’s more than last year because they are our clear weak spot. Maybe we still weren’t that good at stopping the run last year but offenses just focused on attacking patterson

And Juan defensive scheme. Nnamdi isn’t playing man, the LB have a bigger responsibility and the D Line holes are just way too big.

Got a lot of love for my man Avant but....
the two straight fumbles are inexcusable just fucking piss poor. It seems like that defines are season right now man, so much talent but where are your freaking brains?!?!?!
2010-2011 is a great year for sneaker heads.
Avant, Page & Parker..
Three way tie.
Avant’s play as impactful as it was physically (in a positive sense), mentally it was a disaster. That fumble, deadly. Fighting for yards while the defender was blatantly stripping at the ball. IMO, he’s not going to out run anyone, and he had three defenders in pursuit after the catch and his initial shake. Should have went down. The interception, caused by his drop… Another effort play; but he should have caught the pass initially.
That fumble, again, was partly LeSean’s fault.
Page, missed tackle after missed tackle. I saw it w/ Coleman in the Giants game, I saw it against the Bills w/ Page; wrap the fcuk UP. And on the play in the redzone when he blitzed and was just so centered on the Quartetback… You’re coached this in the high school and college ranks, so I know they emphasize it in the league, play the fcuk under control. They’ll give Coleman the start against the Skins before they turn it over to Jarrett; but I’d damn sure love to see this ‘intelligent’ high-round pick in action.
Not to mention, didn’t Castillo say that the safeties were as integral, as any position on defense in his scheme? In terms of their main role being assisting in run defense? That seems like Jaiqwan’s calling card #shrugs.
& Parker for the obvious. He robbed us of our last shot, point blank.

I have to admit...
…I was REALLY wrong about Page. He has the athleticism but has been a nightmare at safety. How many positions have we benched a player at already this year?
Kurt Coleman? Benched
Jarrad Page? Benched
Kyle DeVan? Benched
Casey Matthews? Benched TWICE.
It’s coming up on Week 6 and we still don’t know who are consistent starters are.
Why do people always think I'm playing the Race Card???
Is it because I'm black???
When’s it going to be time to bench the Wide Nine and see if the players can play regular football gaps like they were trained to do for the previous 10+ years of their careers?
Jeff_McLane Reid said he’s sticking with the wide nine scheme up front on defense.
LesBowen Reid: Wide nine worked in the second half, better tackling.
I’d argue the first point as Jason and others have said.. the gaps between DE/DT/DT/DE looked narrower this week and parts of last week when we were doing better against the run.
And for the 2nd point, better 1 on 1 tackling is no solution for a scheme that puts tacklers in 1 on 1 situations way too often. This Wide Nine scheme doesn’t emphasize a rushing of people to the ball. It spreads people out to better rush the QB. That’s flawed to the max.
How was Matthews benched twice? He was moved because all 3 LB's were struggling
so they wanted to move Fokou and Chaney to their more natural positions.

Okay...that's how you look at it.
I prefer to look at it the CORRECT way. This is a factual timeline:
A: Chaney finished last year as the starting MLB.
B: His only competition for MLB was not re-signed.
C: Matthews, despite not playing a down, was given the MLB starting role.
D: Matthews struggled mightily…and even his mother was calling for his head. (Okay, maybe not the last part)
E: Chaney and Fokou, who both also looked worse than last year, were put back in the positions they had success in from last year.
F: Matthews was moved to the weakside, something he made into an adjective, not a noun.
G: He was promptly beaten on a wheel route by arguably one of the slowest backs in the NFL.
H: He wasn’t in the starting lineup anymore.
Now you tell me where my timeline is wrong.
Why do people always think I'm playing the Race Card???
Is it because I'm black???
Thanks Jason!
I thought it was kind of pointless to hand out game balls when we suck and are losing. I’m not much of a pessimist…BUT let’s face it, these guys are not exactly deserving of much respect anymore. Ugh
Plain and simple they are playing like trash. Arm tackling and jogging around giving 60% effort won’t win a ball game in this league. Dream team, crap team, all pro team…. doesnt matter who you are if you don’t play as a unit with a passion, and we just aren’t seeing this consistently. I had the luxury of coming back up from Florida to catch the game with a rowdy group of family and had a great “Miracle 2” expectation, watching the second half performance. The JP mistake was the “Straw on a Camel” type of deal but still a very frustrating high school type mistake! Page is a bum! I assume he looks great in practice thus gaining himself the starting NOD, but no good on gameday. I love the Colt Anderson tenacity and drive but feel all around that Coleman is the guy to start back there. He will make mistakes… TOUGH! He is a competitor and a HELL of a tackler! I feel Rolle may mature into an anchor on D!(Hopefully sooner than later) REPS will show. I haven’t had tons of time to read through forums or research but has anyone inspected the last game tape to see how many missed tackles we had? Also how many yards after contact? It’s a known fact you want to see tons of your color jerseys around the ball every play even in Peewee football. I thought I saw tons of green around the ball but time and time again the ball carrier emerging for 2,3,4 more yards! Sickening to say the least. I’d hate to see Reid go, but the preseason gave us super bowl expectations, and we may miss the whole freakin’ playoffs? What to do….?
