After the pro bowl rosters came out a lot of people (myself) included were complaining about Trent Cole being a huge pro bowl snub. Well, after watching yesterday's game the voters got it right and we got it wrong. Their were numerous times when I wondered even if Trent Cole was out there. And because of how mad I was watching this game I decided to do some research and see if their was any truth to what I believed and here were the results.
In Games since the Bye
INDY: Gave up 24 Pts 3 Tackles 1 Sack
WASH: Gave up 28 Pts 4 Tackles 0 Sacks
NYG: Gave up 17 Pts 1 Tackle 0 Sacks
CHI: Gave up 31 Pts 5 Tackles 2 Sacks
HOU: Gave up 24 Pts 3 Tackles 0 Sacks
DAL: Gave up 27 Pts 2 Tackles 0 Sacks
NYG: Gave up 31 Pts 10 Tackles (By Far best game in second half) 0 Sacks
MINN: Gave up 24 Pts 1 Tackle 1 Sack
DAL: N/A Did not play
GB: Gave up 21 Pts 3 Tackles 0 Sacks
Also, this stat is for the whole year: Inside the red zone Cole has made 9 Tackles all year 9 TOTAL! After seeing these stats I think his drop-off in production is in direct correlation with the Eagles D holding only 1 team to under 20 pts since the bye. Now of course you cant blame Cole for everything but I do think these numbers should make the Eagles think about trading Kolb for a high pick to draft a Pass Rusher instead of corner. I think if we could get any sort of pressure on the QB our secondary would look a lot better.
Love to hear what you guys think of my theory.
