McNabb Deniers
Many of you know me as a McNabb supporter. So when I found this article (via IgglesBlog.com) it hit home. It expresses my feelings about the whole McNabb debate better than I ever could.
I've always been realistic with my opinions on McNabb- he's not the best QB ever, he had problems with accuracy, he didn't win a Super Bowl- but I still believe he's the best QB the Eagles ever had. I just could never understand the vitriol sent his way. This article encapsulates why I feel that way.

Yes I was about to fsndhot it too.
WARNING: you’ll need to set aside a good 10-15 minutes to digest it all.
I put a dollar in a change machine. Nothing changed.
I was going to talk about this tomorrow. The whole thing is a fairly pointless straw man argument to me. Does it address the goofy talk radio fringe? Sure, but it fails to make an intelligent argument against reasoned fans who were ready to move on.
We’ve been addressing all this cliched nonsense for years. I don’t think anyone needs to hear someone yet again say how Cataldi is stupid and a few idiots booing McNabb at the draft was dumb. I would have thought FO would have taken on smarter fans.

I love the sweeping generalizations in this article, and how much credit is given to McNabb for the Eagle’s success — and how the author brings up no rational point as to why a lot of us, while thankful for having a solid starter that at times made some spectacular plays, feel like it was time to move on to the next era.
I guess some people just love to preach the victimhood of McNabb.
great articleww
He isn’t criticizing the people who had rational thoughts on McNabb and felt it was time to move on. He is critizing the fringe lunatics you hear on sports radio and in bars who discredit his entire legacy. People who label him a choke artist, a crybaby, and a bad leader. People who feel that he held the team back and the was the sole reason for the team’s struggles.

The Main Idea of the Article
I think all the writer was trying to say was that having an over-the-top negative view of any athlete be it McNabb or anyone else will rob you of having the thrills of great moments with your beloved team.
I couldn’t stand Von Hayes. He was a bum. But I’ll never forget when the Phillies beat the Mets 26-7 in the late 80s. Hayes had a monster game. Do I think he was a classic underachiever? Definitely. Will I “deny” he had that great moment? Of course not.
Same for guys like L.J. Smith and Freddie Mitchell. Those guys make me physically ill. But I give Freddie credit for having some good moments (like his big catch vs. the cowboys on MNF). Smith was very athletic, too.
So if I can give kudos to some of the worst athletes Philly has ever seen, how much more credit can we give to a guy like McNabb?
Win and win some more...
Waiting for JoeD....
Honestly I’m just really tired of hearing about this.
Are we going to continue having posts about this all year?
I can imagine what it will be like, if God forbid, we would lose to Washington October 3rd
Rec'd em? Damn near killed em!
