When it comes to the NFL, relying on conventional wisdom is usually unwise | Washington Post
In a stunning offseason move, the Philadelphia Eagles dealt quarterback Donovan McNabb to the Washington Redskins. Conventional wisdom says you don't trade your signature superstar to a division rival. Conventional wisdom says three-year backup Kevin Kolb cannot replace McNabb. Conventional wisdom says Eagles Coach Andy Reid has made a colossal mistake. Conventional wisdom can be pretty stupid.

FOXNews.com - Looming lockout already impacting NFL

that slouch article is hilarious. You can win 1.25 if you submit a question and it makes his column. Here is my favorite:
" Q. In order to save downtime between wives, are you redshirting any future ex-Mrs. Norman Chads? (Frank Fletcher; Cleveland)
A. Pay the man, Shirley. "
Also, I think I am going to enter the Man date contest by saying that if Stu punched me in the face I would have the strong urge to thank him.
I was thinking about entering the Stew contest too
Preston and Steve were saying they will pick the winner by fans submitting letters to Stew. I thought it would be funny to use the It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia letter that Mac wrote to Chase Utley (substituting Stew for Chase)
“Dear Stew, I feel like I can call you Stew because you and me are so much alike.” Really? “I would love to meet you some day, it would be great to have a catch. I know I can’t throw as fast as you but I think you would be impressed with my speed. I love your hair. You run fast. Did you have a good relationship with your father? Me neither. These are all things we can talk about and more. I know you have not been getting my letters because I know you would write back if you did, and I hope you write back this time and we get to be good friends. I am sure our relationship would be a real ’home run.”

Um, what?
Norman Chad: “The NFC East has three quarterbacks with Pro Bowl experience – McNabb, the Cowboys’ Tony Romo and the Giants’ Eli Manning – and Kevin Kolb. Kolb will outplay them all.”
Look, I hope Kolb is everything Reid thinks he is and he might be in a few years. But right now, he is the 4th QB in the division. Now, that’s not meant to be an insult. The fourth QB in this division could still be a top 10 QB. But saying he’s going to outplay ALL the others as a first-year starter? No.
Taking Norm Chad seriously ...
… would seem to indicate you don’t “get” Norm Chad.
He might even really believe Kolb will outplay all three QBs, but there’s also not much for him to lose if he’s wrong since he’s not a serious columnist or football analyst.

But he was also a healthy scratch five times in a six-game stretch after his failed tackle contributed to Cincinnati Bengals running back Cedric Benson’s 28-yard touchdown run on Oct. 11.
So that what happen. He got sent to the dog house, Eagles picked that up, used that info as some leverage, and got him rather cheap.
Or I’m just speculating. Meh.
RIP Jim Johnson, best ever.
Man Dates?!?
What in the world is happening to Philly? Can’t wait to see what my fellow Cowboy fans think about that.

Bah
I call BS. Most Cowboys fans would jump at the chance to have a steak dinner with Tony Romo (or any player for that matter). They live and breathe football just as we do.

Still,
Calling it a “Man Date” is most unbecoming. Surely you agree with that?

The WizWit article.
Hey Jason – I personally would not have linked an article that has this opening line:
Howie Roseman is a thieving Jew.
Especially on one of the holiest days in the Jewish Calendar. Kind of like burning Korans or Bibles – completely uncalled for.
Interesting...
Wizwit has since retracted the comment and apologized for inesensitivity. There’s a big difference between making a mistake and being racist. I think Wizwit just made a mistake. (Like Jason did for linking it.)
Wizwit's tagline ...
… is “Philly sports for the immature intellectual.”
I’m not saying that makes that lede less offensive, but definitely consider the source.
I’m not really amused by Black Roy Halladay, which is upper right side next to the tagline. But that plus the tagline is definitely a reminder that I’m not viewing a serious website. FWIW
