I'm thinking we should start a "fake wager" game. Here's my idea...
Everyone starts with $300 in fake money, and you bet on the point spreads each week. You can bet as many games as you want, but the minimum bet for each game must be at least $100 (unless you have less than $100, in which case you have to go "all in"). If you run out of money, you're done. You must "bet" at least one game every week. Whoever has the most fake money at the end of the season wins.
Now... I'm just an idea guy on this one, and I think I'll be too busy to run this thing on a weekly basis, so I'll also need a volunteer for someone to step up and run this. You would basically need to tally the bets each week and list the leaderboard, as well as the new lines each week. Anyone up for it?

my friend who has also been on a hot streak sadly says the pick of the week tho is

Sucker bet. The Packers and the Texans – Never trust the preseason juggernaut in Week 1. Best to just stay away.

when the public is really on a pick its usually a bad thing lolll but i feel like every year when i go strictly off of how the team was last year and taking into consdieration how many players are no longer there etc i usually do ok 1st few weeks its the late season that usually kills me

It wasn’t early this week. Line started out as a Packers as a slight favorite (+1) or pick-em. Hell, I even saw the Eagles favored at +1.

I just dont see how the Jets got SOOOOOO good. Sure their defense is good. But their Offense doesnt really scare me….well if im baltimore at least.

Mostly depends on Sanchez's development.
He’s got receivers and Shonn Greene backed up by LT should work. But we shall see, I think it will be a fine game to watch.

I dont think they will challenge the Ravens defense. Id even venture to say that the Jets defense wont be able to stop the Ravens.
Maybe if it had stayed as Boldin being their only real Wideout. But the got TJ to now. Ray Rice is about to have a ridiculous year. I just dont see how the Jets stop them but thats just me

I think Cotchery is a pretty solid wideout.
Is 2007 representative of Braylon’s career? Probably not, 2006 or 2008 is far more likely to be closer to what he is. But having two receivers who are capable of hauling in a thousand yards can’t hurt. Dustin Keller is also a competent TE. I’ve picked Baltimore in my pool but mostly because we don’t know how good the Jets are beyond the hype and a sophomore slump is always possible for Sanchez.

Also I might be able to run this for the first couple weeks, as I just lost my job, but after that it would be pretty tough
I’m in college for Math education to be a teacher, but I was a GM for Wawa for a while, also worked as a banker after that, but had a job a nice little deli in glen mills, but gt let go today. Oh and I’m in the guard too, so if anyone out there is hiring, lol

Ha, just kidding. OK, it works like this… Take the game tonight for example – Vikings at Saints.
The Saints are the “favorite,” because Las Vegas oddmakers believe they will win. Conversely, the Vikings are the “underdog.” They’ve determined that the Saints are likely to win by about 6 points, hence the line being 6…
Favorite Line Underdog
Saints 6 Vikings
Now, if you wanted to bet on the Saints in Vegas, they have to win by more than 6 points. You would essentially subtract 6 points from the Saints final score to determine the winner of the bet.
On the flip side, If you wanted to bet on the underdog, in this case the Vikings, you would add 6 points to their final score.
Got it?
So for example, if the Saints won tonight 31-27, people who bet the Vikings would actually win that bet, because the Saints didn’t “cover the spread.”
Ahh… You see, I actually knew that, but spreads like “2.5” throw me off.
In that case:
Eagles $20 (homer pick)
Lions $100 (risk pick)
Chargers $180

$100 minimum bet on this, but I don’t think you Lions pick is a risk pick I was leaning that way too
I would be shocked. I like Chief fans, but that defense is far from where it needs to be (which is understandable since they’re mid-transition to 3-4) and the offense has a few playmakers but not enough depth and cohesiveness to win a lot of games. The Chiefs will win a few this year, but this game won’t be one of them.
