Ricky Sapp Goes Under The Knife

The Eagles announced today that DE Ricky Sapp underwent successful arthroscopic surgery on his right knee. The surgery was to "debride" his knee, which is defined as "To remove dead, contaminated or adherent tissue or foreign material."

Sapp suffered a partially torn ACL in that knee while in college. He was placed on injured reserve and figures to be back next season.

This is probably going to make me sound stupid but it is easier to come back from a partially torn ACL right?

Yes. Not even the same ballpark.

Really?

So a partially torn ACL is where then? Elbow? lol

KOLB is a natural born leader - something the Eagles haven't had on offense in a long long time. Prediction, we win a SB in the next 3 years.

Weight room time, Ricky.

You need about 10 more pounds of muscle, then you can challenge Barnes for the Joker position.

Question

Is it worth waiting on guys like this to heal?

No.

Yes, it doesn’t cost a roster spot. EB you’re an idiot if you don’t think letting a guy sit on IR for a year is worth it.

He isn’t good. What’s the point? It’s like waiting in line at fucking Arby’s.

What is the point in cutting him and bringing in another pair of legs for TC? He was a good player in college, why not see if he can’t recover? He probably won’t, but cutting him is retarded and fits in with the rest of your everything the best coach since the 60s does is wrong no matter what I have to make up about it to prove a point routine.

I can see how this is "made up."

The guy is crappy and hurt. Your company line is “Good job, Andy. Another great pick.” You repeat this mantra ad nauseum. Unfortunately, that doesn’t really work here. Come to think of it, it doesn’t usually work. Kinda odd, isn’t it? Especially for such a “great talent evaluator.”

You certainly illicit some very negative responses at times.

by AZ Eagle on Sep 7, 2010 7:57 PM EDT up reply actions

That is true.

And with one word, no less.

No

He’s on IR, so we don’t have to use up a roster space and we keep the rights to him. He’s just not allowed to play this year. I assume we still have to pay him in full though correct?

by AZ Eagle on Sep 7, 2010 8:40 PM EDT up reply actions

Yeah they have to pay him, but a 5th rounder’s salary is chump change.

Wasted pick

Eagles are going to wind up wasting his pick on a guy who will never play a down for them I bet. One thing to waste a 7th round pick on a player like this and another to waste a 5th where you can more readily find decent depth talent which this team sorely needs in a few areas.

…or it doesn’t hurt to take one risk when you have 13 picks? It’s one goddamn 5th-rounder.

I put a dollar in a change machine. Nothing changed.
