Around SBN: Jeremy Lin And How The Pac-12 Missed Him

Too late to go back....

Finally September 12th is right around the corner and we all get to find out if this Kolb era gets it going for a championship(s) run in my lovely city. Will the complaints of many people saying to get rid of that other guy, finally bring us a Super Bowl? I know the team is young. Most of the players are barely in their late twenties and some haven't been around each for very long, but who knows; This could finally be something. Just call me Mr. Optimistic... The team has finally gotten their 53 man roster together and made some interesting trades and needed cuts. Stacey Andrews, thank GOD we didn't fly into the season with a Guard that was either delusional or was just trying to see his brother for 2games out of this long season.!! And we traded for a very good Guard with Arizona, (Reggie Wells). Quintin Demps, I like him on special teams, especially for kick returns. But Macho Harris, I saw that was coming since last season with both Dallas losses. He needs time to get better, and we all know as Philadelphian's: "We don't have it!!!!" we finally get into a season with no concerns about depth with Wide Receivers. But I want to see if Jeremy Maclin will and can be that physical wide out??? Riley Cooper can possible be a serious threat in the red zone. Time will have to tell that because everyone sees the talent and potential. Clay Harbor better keep whatever it is he has going all season with Brent Celek. Now my favorite side of the squad, Eagles DEFENSE!, could come up and upper cut other team's offense's in the mouth if they can be consistent. Brandon Graham may look like a small Defensive End, but who cares because his talent and potential should make him great with Trent. Stewart Bradley is back! Don't get me wrong, I don't think he is Trotter status yet, (when Trot had that speed in his younger days), but he is all over the field and looking good off of just a year from a serious injury. And I hope Dimitri Patterson can work in this system. Trevard Lindley  looks promising and hope he gets at least a opportunity to make big plays. Somebody tell Ernie Sims to pop Tony Romo at least once so I can laugh? It is also genius that they picked Antwan Barnes from the Ravens. Even the Special Teams look promising. Hank has gotten another chance to continue with his career without appearing on his wife show. I had to take that stab. I will be writing at least one of these every week, and even the by-week, for the season. Bring on the Packers and see what happens. Aaron Rodgers, So!!!!!

-I want to see Maclin catch the ball, run in the open field and GET THE F DOWN anytime contact comes!!! “Big Game” Torry Holt style. Maclins not built like TO or BMarshall. Nor is he built like a small WR like DJax. He is a tween-er, not big not small type of guy. Let him do what’s made him good all along, run crisp routes and have great hands. What people need to be looking forward from this guy is the tight tip toe, finger tip side line catches he had last year. He will also kill zone defenses! He can also run in the open field. If you want a WR to play big and physical look to Avant. Thats his style of play. Maybe Cooper as you mentioned but he has yet to play in a NFL regular season game. So Im not willing to guess on the type of player/impact he might have.

I think goes with the Basket part but otherwise thankyou. you took this post from unreadable to wish I hadn’t read it (but that had nothing to do with your editing)

LMAO

this blog has been cluttered with posts like this lately. I don’t understand what happened from this time last year to now.

I like what you have to say, I really do,

however it was hell to be able to read that… Try using bullets and paragraphs, it’d make it alot easier and your point will get across alot better..

Once again good post, just work on organizing it a bit, you can be scatter brained but try not to make it a long paragraph…

Now I agree with just about everything you said, but I still like Macho as a player and I really think this teams got alot of potential.

Also Maclin does what he does, let him do what’s brought him success and what make him a 1st rounder a year ago, you know the one thing that should’ve made him a top 10 pick but Al Davis did us a favor??? yeah he’s physical enough in my opinion..

Agree

except the part about Macho. I didn’t really care for him playing S, but had hopes he would perform better at CB.

"my lovely city"

As a child of Mother Philadelphia myself, I often am confronted with situations where I must describe her to strangers. I choose words like “interesting,” “passionate,” “ballsy,” “awesome,” and “intense.” Rarely, however, do I choose “lovely.”

Macho had to go. He got burnt so many times it was embarassing!! Demps tho I liked and think they shouldve given him another year to grow. I thought his return game was good. I think the front office couldnt get that Arizona game out of there heads. To cut both of them and to keep a rookie instead.

Phillies in the World Series, Flyers in the Stanley Cup, now all we need is the Philadelphia Eagles in the Superbowl. Arlington, Texas 2011...

In colemans defense..

He’s done more in 5-6 months than Demps has done in 2 1/2 years and if anyone deserved some more time to grow it wouldve been macho because he was actually a starter at one point.

I was actually surprised to see him go

They did have him starting last year and then in the offseason they were moving him around from CB to Safety. I thought once they figured out where they wanted him they would allow him sometime to grow. But I guess not. Thats what so great/bad about the offseason .. its full of surprises!
