The Linc - Around The NFC East

Not much Eagles news has happened that we haven't reported, but there's been a flurry of activity around the NFC East.

Brandon Jacobs is not pleased at all - NFC East Blog - ESPN
Jacobs, who's started for the Giants since Tiki Barber retired after the '06 season, isn't happy with his new backup role to Ahmad Bradshaw. "No one's your friend in this business," said Jacobs. "This is a cutthroat, backstabbing business. That's just the way it goes. It's been like that before me. If you expect anything else out of a business like this, you're crazy."

Breaking News: Giants Acquire Sage Rosenfels - Big Blue View
The Giants acquired veteran quarterback Sage Rosenfels tonight in a trade with the Minnesota Vikings, according to an NFL source. They acquired the 32-year-old, 10th-year veteran and running back/return man Darius Reynaud for a fifth-round pick in the 2011 draft and a conditional draft pick in 2012.

TJ Houshmandzadeh Nears Open Waters - Hogs Haven
The Redskins are in need of a play making threat at wide receiver, and at 32, Houshmandzadeh is still young compared to a certain unnamed receiver on our roster. It makes sense that the Redskins would be in play for his services, give the innexperience we have behind Moss and Galloway.

Cowboys Made Another Trade On Friday Besides Crayton - Blogging The Boys
Reserve offensive lineman Pat McQuistan was traded to the Miami Dolphins for an undisclosed draft pick.

Patrick Crayton Traded to San Diego Chargers for 2011 7th Rounder - Blogging The Boys
Patrick Crayton has been traded by the Dallas Cowboys to the San Diego Chargers for a 2011 7th round draft pick.

Snyder never ceases to amaze

If Washington is seriously considering signing Houshmandzadeh, they really couldn’t come up with a way to outbid San Diego for Crayton? Maybe Dallas wouldn’t have taken the deal, but if they accepted a 7th round pick, they clearly don’t value him that highly.

I was expecting to wake up and cuts

to be flying in from all over the NFL. Unfortunately for the fan in me, I will be doing a bar crawl starting at 2pm today and I will be too blacked out to enjoy the possibilities of us being treasure trash pickers.

My wish list:

A RB for 3rd string: Goodson of Carolina will not be cut. But maybe a trade? OR another RB with potential.

A TE: Coffman please.

A specialty return guy: Jurrick Calvin anyone?

Take the name off the back of the jersey's and reinvent football as a team sport.

Hmmm… I hadn’t realized thre Giants got Reynaud in that trade too. Rosenfels is nothing, but Reynaud is a hell of a return man and he has potential at the offensive positions as well. I wish we had him, lol.

Since when has Houshmanzadeh been a playmaker?

by The Legend on Sep 4, 2010 11:59 AM EDT reply actions

TJ

Check his numbers “The legend”. The offense last year didn’t throw to him as much, but when he was in Cincy, he was definitely a playmaker… Know your facts before you speak…

Oh I think he knew his facts. Since when has TJ been a playmaker? it’s been a few years now, and I don’t see it happening again. I don’t feel sorry for him either. He took the money and left a great situation for him to go to a terrible one for ANY WR. So he made his choice. I always questioned how good he really was anyways.

Just because you catch a lot of passes doesn’t mean you are playmaker. Hoshmanzadeh is a possesion reciever

Gotta be careful there though… is Avant not a playmaker? I think he is, but he’s most definitely a posession receiver as well.
